i was planning on putting one of these on. Not for the benefits if there ever are any, but to keep the car more "DL" incase a cop pops open the hood. I was planning on hiding the cone in the bumper and painting the piping black. Does anyone know any companys that make CAI for this motor? any help would really be appreciated.

There are none that are off-the-shelf for it.

Putting a CAI on a turbo motor that makes a lot of power is scarey. It sucks up a LOT of air when making a lot of power.

Water is not so far away in that case.

just make a fake airbox. besides if he pops your hood. (like a state trooper) he has the book with a picture of what your engine bay is supposed to look like. and he might not see the filter, but he will see the sr20.

if you take off the spark plug cover it takes away "intercooled turbo" all it says is "nissan 16 valve" . Anyone have any pics of SR20's with intake inside of the stock airbox?

I'd like to make an "ice box" using a cone filter inside the stock airbox with large ducting to an opening in the fenderwell or front bumper. It would be stealthy and effective.

Tell the cops you are down with the ACN. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/wink.gif http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

so where is the best place to keep the filter if you have a top mounted turbo?... we need around 18" from the turbo to the MAFS and that means that the pipe would have to run along side the hot pipe and down to where the stock intercooler would be? so if the air filter and MAFS was in that area is that too close to the ground for danger of water pickup?

I was plannning on making my own CAI and testing ot to see if there really IS any power gain or not. Water crossings? -> AEM bypass valve!

is that bypass valve guaranteed though?

if you have a bigger turbo, i doubt that it will stop all the water, if its sucking hard enough

whats the point when the turbo will just heat up the air hotter than it is outside?

colder air into the compressor = colder air out of the compressor.

Granted, it's not that important if you have a good intercooler.

i dont care about the gains, all i care about it how stealth it is.
