12-10-2001, 10:21 PM
daaaaam. that sucks. sorry that had to happen. i think i'd cry and then go crazy insane if that happened to me.

12-10-2001, 10:22 PM
ouch... good thing you were insured.

is that a rock holding your car up?

12-10-2001, 10:31 PM
yeah a fkn rock, actually i think they shared a rock between the two cars...haha

12-10-2001, 10:34 PM
Did this happen at a school? or in front of your house?

12-10-2001, 10:37 PM

12-10-2001, 10:39 PM

Makes you wanna have a fireproof safe welded to the car http://www.freshalloy.com/

12-10-2001, 10:42 PM

sorry to hear the bad news.
I was wondering did you have on any wheel locks or special lugs?

12-10-2001, 10:45 PM
yeah of course the window, also new rotors, im thinkin brembo will be just fine..lol http://www.freshalloy.com/

12-10-2001, 10:58 PM
wheel locks dont do nothing.

12-10-2001, 11:07 PM
Hrm... Hrm.. I am thinking of nifty idea.. but.. hrm.. if I maybe have time tomarrow, I go do some shopping / research.. idea to make theft like this harder to get away with, ... rather not reveal idea at this moment tho.. if it works it'd be patentable http://www.freshalloy.com/ (tho I'd need money for a patent.. crap!)

12-10-2001, 11:11 PM
well id have to say that wheel locks do work, becasue the gsr had a wheel lock on all his rims, every lug was taken off and layin next to the car except for of course the locked one still attached,,,they got mad and ripped his antenna off and key the backside

12-11-2001, 08:07 AM
That is fu<king horrible.

Actually you can get plain (not x-drilled or slotted) brembo rotors cheaper than OEM rotors...

Soo sorry to hear that man. Did you have an alarm?

12-11-2001, 11:10 AM
sorry to hear and see it, i had that problem with people jacking my car parts when i had my civic, but after i got my 240 4 years ago, i park it only in the garage.

12-11-2001, 11:11 AM
one things for sure, those punks are going to have a hard time using those 4x114.3 lug pattern wheels you got, or even sell them. maybe you can ask around your area and words will eventually pop out about who did it, cause thats how i found some of my car parts that was stolen off my civic.

Can you not also get the slotted and/or x-drilled for cheaper than OEM rotors also.....I got mine for way cheaper than OEM...just curious.

Anyways, that totally sucks man. Don't even get mestarted on how I despise the fact that there are so many lowlifes out there that can't just get a job to pay for theier own sh$t. Thank God you had insurance though...couple of buddies of mine have had thier car borken into and neither had any insurance.

12-11-2001, 11:51 AM
That sucks man, and it happened here in VA
=(. Hope mine isn't next. I wish the advertised "2-car" garage in my house was actually a 2-car garage.

12-11-2001, 01:49 PM
yeah we have a 2 car garage also, but i guess my stepdad feels that his 740i should be the lone holder of the garage..this didnt happen at my house though, it happend at a friend apartment complex

12-11-2001, 01:56 PM
My condolences to you man. But again, did you not have an alarm and if so what kind?

12-11-2001, 02:11 PM
ahh... I just noticed how close you are to me!! Actually, they got me in Sept...

As for wheel locks, I've seen them work many times. I had a flat w/o a spare in my VW 10 years ago. Left the car overnight in a "safe area." Came back - it was gone! Pushed 1/4 mi. away into an alley where it was looted. They left my Porsche alloys and my Recaros - but they took my tools (incl. wheel lock key). Tow truck driver taking it to the shop (to get the locks removed, among other things), bet me the price of a tow he could remove them. I got a free tow after waiting about 45 minutes for him to give up.

12-11-2001, 03:32 PM
while on the subject of wheel locks, are there any special wheel locks that you can suggest or are the generic wheel locks like you can get at pepboys any good??

12-11-2001, 03:40 PM
i noticed a few of you were asking about the Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors....check the thread i am about to start. I will post some pics and prices.

12-11-2001, 04:11 PM
Danm man that fkn sucks sorry you should get an alarm http://www.freshalloy.com/

12-11-2001, 04:49 PM
Dude I am so sorry to hear that. I got the same car (looks wise) as you and that scares me just looking at it.

Sorry to hear this man, wheel stealing is popular here in the Vancouver area as well...bastards.

12-11-2001, 05:01 PM
That sucks man, I use to live in Fairafax, and I also had my stuff jacked a few times. Most of the guys doing this, are little punk kids and a simple alarm or wheel locks will deter them.

12-11-2001, 05:44 PM

12-11-2001, 06:07 PM
Ugh... what a sad post. I hope that your car makes it back to it's previous condition ASAP.

12-11-2001, 06:09 PM
well i just got the quote from my insurance heres the scoop

2790 total- 500 deductable
this includes cd player 600, rims and tires 1100, painting underside where rocks are, 450 for the window, new dust shields..
now im just getting the window redone, the shop told me about 250...leaving me with 940 pocket money to get a new head unit (already oredered viper esp 500 alarm) i think since tghey ****ed up the dash where the din is, ill get the carbon fiber trim kit...or just a double din cd player to stuff in there to hide the edges, the trim will cover the rest

12-11-2001, 06:11 PM
DAM!!! SO sorry to see that happend to a 240 brother!

I got my stereo jacked 2 years ago. Didn't get my Enkei RSE rims though. Wheel lock.

While on the subject. Does anyone know if insurance covers performance parts?

12-11-2001, 06:11 PM
hopefully new pics of the reincarnation on fri http://www.freshalloy.com/ http://www.freshalloy.com/ http://www.freshalloy.com/ http://www.freshalloy.com/

12-11-2001, 06:26 PM
i spoke with my insurance company (progressive) for 17 a month they cover ne thing that is aftermarket, i didnt have this but they still covered the rims and stereo so i was happy, im getting the coverage now though. bc yeah it would cover any body kit damage, if somebody was to take your exaust etc..
which would suck

12-11-2001, 07:31 PM
don't get double din radio...the faceplate is not removeable...i got mine jack a while ago in my protege..just get a single din plus some gauges or an EQ to fill the spot..

12-11-2001, 07:50 PM
yeah im gonna go with the alpine 7878 mp3 player cd, and the pioneer 9200 digital eq, both found cheap on ebay
