Anyone know where I can score a KA20DE? This engine was sold in a few vehicles in Japan. I believe it was in a minivan of some sort. I've looked at a few places that import JDM motors.. and none of them want to even bother looking for one. Anyone know of any places that could help me?

That would be a hard find, so rare it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Then open and account with www.rinkya.com (http://www.rinkya.com) and bid on the engine through them.

When you do a searc on yahoo Japan, just enter the search in teh blank field, then click the button to the right of the field. Results will come up in list form. Now there are 3 links you can click near the top of the list, the 3rd link is the link to display results with thumbnails, voila!

Happy bidding.

WRONG, they will not ship an engine or any larger items.

They charge about 800 shipping for wheels, one guy got a front lip, the shipping was over 500 for that. Those are as big as they go.

I don't understand your statement... just because it's rare or hard to find.. it's not worth it? I didn't come on here and ask if it was "worth it". I came on here and asked if anyone knew how or where to find one. I know what it's worth to me..

Obviously. You'd probably end up paying a lot of money for one, more than most other engines. Especially in shipping if you have to find someplace to ship you one special order. It would far outweigh the costs of other motors.

I saw one @ an importer in NC...I forget the name, i'll try and find it, I doubt they sold that motor.

I dont think they are rare, the KA20DE came in alot of cars..
Isuzu Como, Nissan Caravan, Isuzu Elf 100, and a few other cars.
And the trucks/vans would probably be pretty high production volume vehicles so im sure there are alot of KA20DE's floating around..

If it's the crank that you're after, why don't you just order the crank brand new from nissan, make some custom longer rods (rod to stroke anyone) and runt he de stroked ka that way :-)

Matt its not the same unless we get all the cogs of commerce in action. Phone calls and emails over sees, wire transfers, express certified mail, ground transport at the shipping end, the pallet builders, fork truck operators, ship's captain, us customs.

Calling nissan whaa WhaA?? tas fur pu$$i3s

It's not about money... If I wanted something easy, I'd put a SR in the car. This is a project car for my shop.. and I want to do something different.

Let me know if you find out... I'll be up in that area this winter and I could just swing by to look at it.

IF you would have ordreed it two months ago it would be here next month... i mean, if its only money, and time is money, it's no big deal, right?

If I would have decided I wanted it 2 months ago.. I would have ordered it 2 months ago.. It's for my personal car.. not a customer's car. What I posted.. was asking if anyone knew where I could find KA20DE motor. I want to try a few different things.. which requires the entire motor... well, at least the longblock.

does anyone know if the crank even fits in a ka24de block?

also, what's the price and part number of the ka20de crank?

it might be interesting to use this item on a ka24de with custom rods. and maybe a reflash of the ka24de ecu.

Stroking the KA like that would further reduce it's ability to rev, no?
