Hi All,

Dunno if anyone knows me from this part of the forum, but I had a 97 S14 a few years back (2000-2002), and recently purchased a '73 240-Z!

It came from a friend who bought it with a stroked L28, mint body (has some paint chips here and there among other things) and suspension work... I had to buy it as he wanted a friend to own it.

I'll throw the whole list of specs up later.

I didn't post when I saw your thread so Mason had to.
Sorry! http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So now I'll ask for pics. Got pics? 1973 Z pics. Preferably your new acquisition in photographic splendor... http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Engine specs.

Crank - LD28 from 81-83 Diesel Maxima
Rods - Early L24 9mm
Pistons - KA24 from 240sx
Head - N42
Intake - Mikuni intake manifold
Camshaft - Regrind, .510" lift, 300 deg. duration, 10 deg lobe centers
Valves - Stock valve diameters, 3 angle valve job
Valve Springs - High compression springs, hardened valve seats
Exhaust - 6-1 Motorsport Header to 2.5" piping with Dynomax Muffler

Ignition:
Distributor - 280zx w/ E 12-80 module, MSD 6A Box w/ Blaster 2 Coil, 8mm Taylor Wires

Fuel:
Carbs - Triple Mikuni 40mm and linkage

Now I ask... Anyone know a good book on how to learn about carbs and tuning them? I find this funny because my mom and I both used to work at Mikuni but yet I dunno if they'll remember me (it was a summer position 5 years ago), but I know for sure one person does...

That is dope. Carbs sound and look good too, but I would consider selling it for a fuel injection swap. Maybe the L28 280zx turbo or non turbo would not b hard to switch to fuel injection. It gets too complicated tuning 3 carbs. A good ecu program and your off on cold days, hot days, high altitude, low.... list goes on. Junkyard parts are cheap, hopefully still good. Nice 240z. I want one in the future with a turbo 4 cyl or a updated 6 cyl.
