Well, retarded or not, what IGOTSBOTH said made almost no sense.. I've seen babelfish generate almost as bad, but not quite so bad, grammer ..

I had to jump to the conculsion he meant that turbos have their place but so does NA, so don't insult his NA or something like that, .. ? cause his statement makes NO sense.

Funny that so many people did not understand that... complex sentences sometimes do require a bit more thought to fully comprehend sometimes. Perhaps this might make it a bit easier for some folks to get:
"Now you guys have a proper place for your 'turbo-is-better-go-nowhere' jawing; have at it, but do the rest of us a favor, and keep it here."
Same sentence, same structure, SAME POINT.

your right turbo charging isn't the only way to get power out of the ka24de or sr20det. Superchargers will also give you power. Personally I prefer the tubocharging method becuase superchargers put a lot of strain on the crank and reduce engine life.

Did you just regurgitate that from the supercharger thread? What if mark SS was lying, and superchargers actually strengthen cranks by work-hardening them?

It was in another forum, but I have know about it for a long times. If you understand how a supercharger works you will understand why it puts so much strain on an engine. With larger v8's it isnt a big problem, but with a 4 cylender it changes the life span. I was suprised to see that Mercedes did it in their C-coupe.

"your turbo is better go nowhere jawing" can also be read as:
"your 'turbo-is-better, go-nowhere' jawing"
Does that still NOT make sense? If so, then some people would definitely be having problems reading and understanding more convoluted works of literature. Heck, I guess there are folks who don't fully get even Shakespeare...

demon, have you ever seen a supercharger? The blower is connected to the crank by a belt. Thus putting strain on the crank and reducing engine life by making the parts move more. (wear and tear)

**DONOTDELETE**
12-20-2001, 11:54 AM
it puts more resistance on the crank too, which is why it takes power away from the engine. The engine has to work harder to turn the crank. The supercharger more than makes up for this, but you still have to keep all that added engine stress in mind.

I don't know about this, Demon. I've read all of those, including "Grapes of Wrath"... I've also read lots of other fine literature, many plays by Shakespeare, and various translations of Homer's Iliad and The Odyssey, some in iambic pentameter...or was it dactylic hexameter- sh1t, I can't recall.

I've also spent a good amount of time on various internet boards, and I am fairly well versed in the lingo there.

So I can have a good crack at figuring out strange verses and unusual prose. However, I'm still not sure what the original post meant. Though a couple good translations have been offered, I find the strange grammar, odd syntax and complete lack of context to cause the words to resemble gibberish.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The original post may be weird, but one must understand the reason why IGOTSBOTH started this post. With that in mind, no matter how butchered his post was, it made sense (considering how PO'ed IGOTSBOTH got by titling this thread "blue in the face").

Now, if someone came on this thread and read what IGOTSBOTH posted without previously seeing the NA KA power thread, the original post would then be pure gibberish.

It's not retarded if one considered the poster's state of mind at the time. If this subject had such a strong effect on the original poster, that he had to titled the thread "blue in the face", one would think clear logical post would be out of the question.

For me, I could tell that IGOTSBOTH was PO'ed at the NA KA thread...

Not bad mouthing Sr's or KA-T's(one of which i will soon own) but we have all seen those before. So he offers us a look at some thing he obviously put a lot of pride and hard work in to and a few small minded xenophobes trash-talk him down. That is just lame. Shame on us. I would really hate to see FA get the rep for being just another closed minded, brand loyalist camp. Full of sorry layabouts with nothing better to do than fight amongst them selves and gang up on any one different. It is clear that IGOTSBOTH is more informed about our cars than most of the people bashing him for doing a real N/A build up. Saying that he doesn't know any better is just stupid. He knows about turbo's and SR's after all he also owns one(turbo sr 240). Or were we to busy downing him to notice? I really hope that IGOTSBOTH decides to stick around because he seems like he would make a valuable contribution to this forum. Sorry to rant this thing just got under my skin.

Again, if you pay attention to what people are posting, you'll know that IGOTSBOTH was referring to people who, in every topic relating >in any way< to making power, ALWAYS butt in and proclaim turbocharging to be superior to any other form, without giving any room for anyone's opinions or educated guesses or even knowledge.

IGOTSBOTH started this thread so that people like this would have a thread all their own to post in about how turbocharging rocks the llama, so as not to bother other users by being rude and not paying atention to a thread's topic. The improper place is basically any place where the subject is a topic that wants something OTHER than turbocharging. (IE. I want to make NA power and NA power only. I have a million dollars to spend. My goal is 250rwhp. I am not interested in forced induction or nitrous.)

Regardless of whether or not you felt belittled from Demon's posting, his sole intention from the beginning (to me, anyway) was to eliminate the misunderstanding that the original post made. His sarcasm is a trait of his and I found it to be not only very amusing but rather appropriate.

I'm by no means tring to stir the pot here.. I'd just like to get some understanding happening in here instead of flames.

its also a what 3 psi boost? That engine only puts out 195HP. When you want more boost, you put more strain on the crank. I just think that for 250+ HP applications a supercharger is not a good choice on a 4 cylender. That was the point I was trying to make.

For everyone who can't seem to get over the fact that the first post here may be a bit over their head, I suggest picking up some of the popular classic novels published by barnes and noble under their own banner (cuz they are cheap at 7 bucks in hardcover format). Might I suggest greats such as moby ****, adventures of sherlock holmes, white fang, frankenstein, grapes of wratch, etc. After having read something beyond the junk that proliferates some of these mssg boards, one might then be able to understand that IGOTSBOTH post eh...

I also hope that IGOTSBOTH makes the decision to stick around here. It seems that he has good information/experience to share with those of us who would like learn.

I think you're all a bunch of dorks who are certainly NOT masters of the English language. It's funny to see you all attempt to school each other...

Speak the way you speak. Don't fake the funk. Stop bothering and bickering with each other or I'll break each and every one of you. http://www.freshalloy.com/

Of course I'm joking, but I'm serious when I say that I hope people will stop trying to show how unintelligent, ill-mannered, insensitive, impatient, and immature they are.

Enjoy your cars, share what information and experiences you have with others, be good to each other, and have fun.
