Anyone out there using a j-pipe setup to top mount there turbo??

I've thought about taking the CHEAP way out and using a J-pipe to mount my T3/T04E turbo with internal wastegate.

Question is, does this hold up ok with the constant weight of the turbo pushing down on the J-pipe? Just don't want something that will constantly loosen itself or crack.

you can do what nissan did with the intake manifold to help with weight issues, you can add a support to it so the turbo doesnt cause additional weight. As for reliability, it depends on the thickness and type of metal. As for performance, it wont be as good as a turbo mounted to the manifold directly, this is because you want to use the hotest exhaust gasses that are closest to the combustion chamber, by using a J pipe, you allow the gasses to cool a bit more loosing efficiency
