View Full Version : special fan wiring question

I'm getting a Flex-a-lite dual 12" fan for my SR. What I'd like to know is, how can wire these fans so they turn on independently? Right now, it won't have a thermostat. I'm just going to wire it so they have power all the time, and then I'll put a switch in the car. I think I'll need a three position switch. That way I can run one fan, or both (or off). Does anyone know exactly how to do this and what type of switch and relay I should buy? I'd assume the wiring is sort of similar to headlights (off, parking lights, headlights...) Any ideas? Oh, and one more thing, where should I go to get nice looking switches? I've
never really seen nice ones at Autozone or Napa. Ideas??? http://www.freshalloy.com/

Thanks a bunch,

radio shack has good amounts of switches. the wiring should be positve to the batt, neg to the ground with the switch. make sure you turn off the fan before leaving. or you can look for a + wire where it is only live when the car is on.
