Sony, Microsoft say consoles will come at E3

Little boxes, on the hillside

MICROSOFT and Sony have revealed that both their consoles will be seen at the E3 show in Los Angeles this year.

According to CVG, a conference call revealed that the next-generation PlayStation console will be playable at the show. Exactly what that means - whether we'll get games or not - appears unclear.

Meanwhile, Reuters confirms that the Xbox 2 won't be shown at the Game Developers Conference this year as thought, but will also be unveiled at E3. The original Xbox was launched at GDC all those years ago.

It looks like E3 will be the place to be this summer if you're a console buff.

It's funny how for this generation the console makers switched manufacturers... and well, Sony decided to get some help with it.

I'm surprised Sony went with nVidia for the graphics chip, I guess it was cheaper this time around than designing their own.

I'm glad that they are finally getting a real graphic's processor. The PlayStation has always had the better processor (RISC based) when it comes to running the game code. Unfortunately their graphic's lagged WAY behind when you compare the PS2 to the X-box.
