My clutch master cylinder is leaking(oil all over my floor mat), could this be the reason why it grinds when I shift. Is this an easy thing to replace or should I go to a shop and have it serviced

Quite possibly, yes. Teh clutch may not be releasing all the way and thus you get a grind. The replacement is fairly easy if you have some basic mecahnical ability. All you do is disconnect the pin that attaches the arm to the pedal, underneath the dash, disconnect the hydraulic line, unbolt it. Installation is reverse of removal. Then bleed and adjust the pedal and your set. I do suggest getting rid of some of the fluid out of the reservior before you start though to eliminate leakage. Brake fluid is quite harmful to paint.
