Hi Everyone, I am in the process of ordering my mew M45 Sport, and a G35 AWD. I have decided to put all the possible options and the aero package on the M45. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I wanted to ask the people that have already test driven the M45 about accelerator pedal. When I test drove the car I noticed that I was able to floor the car very easily and consistently. I asked the salesperson but he was unable to explain this since he had not yet driven the car himself. If anyone is going to drive it or has driven it can you report the same experience?
I am getting rid of my sc430 for the M45. The sc430 has been the best car I have ever owned but I have the new car bug. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I agree with you JYgcoupe. It is an amazing machine. Yes flooring it is easy but my question is more directed to the distance between the pedal and the floor. It seemed that I was flooring the car to easily. Anyway I love the car. I am ordering it tomorrow. What color was your test model. I am trying to see if anyone has seen the umbria grey.

Could it be the bottom hinged gas pedal? I know that when I first got my BMW 5 Series, it was the first vehicle I had w/ a bottom hinged pedal and it seemed much easier to floor it. If you aren't used to the feel of a bottom hinged pedal, it does take some getting used to.

Welcome to the forum!

So, who's going to be the first owner with pics?

I have never heard of a bottom hinge pedal. Your description of it is exactly my experience. I am ordering both cars today. Still have not decided on color for the M45 http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif I have to try and get to a dealer that has the umbria grey on display.
Thanks for the welcome. I am sure many here have ordered their cars before me, so I am not probably going to be the first with pictures but when I get mine I will post pics.

The local dealer here in Austin has an Umbria Grey.

Thats the color I ordered. I think it looks really classy. While I think the look of the black may have the edge (on the Sport at least), I think the Umbria is the next best thing. I think it provides an interesting contrast to the beiges you see on a lot of Lexus cars and the blue/gray BMWs.

Seems folks don't like the DG on the M so much even though thats probably the best looking color on the G35 Coupe (provides the right amount of shadow to see the curves of the car).

I don't think most of the other available colors really do the car justice, and don't add that prestige look that you expect for a car costing $58K

I would add Twighlight Blue to the Umbria and Black - those are the 3 I have it narrowed to. Umbria is a classy and unique color. It will get noticed. I just need to see it in daylight to make sure it is what I want.

I agree the darker colors (black, dark blue, etc.) look really good on the M35/45, but I just can't stand the maintenance. Maybe if I lived in Southern California I'd consider getting another black vehicle, but I've had 2 and I'm done killing myself trying to keep them clean. I think I'll be going w/ either Diamond Graphite of the White. I wish someone would take some pics of a white M35/45. Someone said it looks really bad on the M. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I have an 2001 Audi A6 2.7T in Cashmere Grey, and I love it because of the different colors it provides depending on the light, that is why I am ordering a Umbria Grey M35X as it does the same thing, and for me, that works because it sort of stands out more than a regular color.

I just got back from the dealer. Got an in stock G35X. Red with all the goodies. Ordered my M45 Sport with Nav,Journey sport, Rear DVD, and Aero Package. I decided to go with the Diamond Graphite with the Stone interior. I figured this color matches the rims, Since they are a gunmetal type color, and the inside has the grey accents. It was a tough decision I hope I like it http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Since I never saw this color in person. Will keep everyone posted.

Wow, good for you!
Not one but two new Infiniti's.
I'm envious http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Do tell which one you like more http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Congrats, and keep us posted! I think the Diamond Graphite on my FX is the sharpest color I've ever seen... and it's easy to keep clean. If I go for an M somewhere down the road that would probably be the color I'd pick. Post pics!

Ok. I ordered the Diamond graphite with Stone interior and all available options. The G35 will be the red metallic color.
jvgcoupe: I was able to verify the hinge pedal question. It is definately hinge on the bottom. like a bus gas pedal. When I test drove the vehicle I had my foot on the bottom part of the pedal. This is why it was so easy to floor it. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I will re test again when i pick up the G35X on saturday.
Psteng: I am not going to tell you which one I like best.

On a side note. Before I test drove the M45 I went to the MB dealer to test drive a CLS500. The best design from MB in a long time. But I was not impressed. There was no driving enjoyment and for $15,000 more not worth it.
The M45 has more noticeable power, a lot more toys, and, IMHO, a nicer interior.
I will post pics as soon as possible.

Thanks for the heads up on the CLS. IMHO, it is truly one of the most beautiful sedans to hit the road in a long time. However, interior and driving enjoyment is what you experience most as an owner. Congrats again on your orders!
