I took these at the launch event in Austin.

I had previously driven this exact car. My review of it was here (http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=M35M45&Number=67921991&pag e=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1).

In my previous review, I did not get to test out the 5.1 audio system, but I did on the night I took these pictures. What has been said previously is true. I heard 2 channel music and a 5.1 channel music/movie. 2 channel was great, but 5.1 was stunning. The imaging of this system is amazing. You really cannot tell where the sound is coming from. It completely surrounds you. You even get this effect in the back seat. One of the parts of the movie had planes flying overhead, and it really sounded like they were flying over the car. I have a $10K+ audio set up at home for my home theater, and although absolute sound quality was not as good as my home system, surround imaging and transparency was better in the M45. It made me want to watch some movies in the car.

Anyway, here are the pictures. I had a difficult time with lighting. It was pretty dark to begin with. I didn't want to use direct flash because it made the color appear different than it did in real life. The darker photos were taken with bounce flash, and I believe they are more true to life. Because they came out so dark, I took a few with direct flash, and those are the ones that appear lighter and less natural. I wouldn't use those to judge the color, because they make it look more brown than it is, but I have included them anyway.

Don't ask me why they put that string of lights on it. I guess they did it for effect. They started off with the car covered, and the lights looked kind of cool then. A few of us were joking about how much extra they were going to tack on to the price for the lights.

I'm completely in love with this color, and it is what I'm getting.

I took a few of this color at the Washington DC car show and I must say its a very captivating color in person. The car was a preproduction model(i thought at the time it was an actual production version), but the color seems to be consistent with yours (eventhough the lighting in our shots is waaaay different). Good move Infiniti http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Excellent color!

I have opted for black. I just absolutely love the look of the M Sport in black, but the Umbria Gray is the very first brownish color that is appealing to me. For me, that's really saying something. It's a very unique color and I can't wait to see some on the road (especially looking out the window of my own M45, woohoo!)

That color looks great. Oh My Oh My What to do, I already ordered mine in Diamond Graphite. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I thought about ordering black, because I agree it looks great on the M. The reason I didn't is my current car that I have owned for 10 years is black, and it is such a pain to keep in top form. It was also time for a change to something else.

I have narrowed down my choice to Black, Umbria, and the dark blue, in that order. Does anyone think the Umbria would be noticably easier to clean than the black or dark blue?

I have had 2 silver cars in a row and love how these do not show dirt. However, I don't think silver does this car justice.

That Christmas lighting strip is PATHETIC.

Who should slap the sh!t out of the designer of that display? Let me do the honors.

Yeah they should have hired me to do the display and also the presentation. They missed talking about many of the highlights of the car. Their loss.

Absolutely the umbria would show less dirt, swirls, etc. My current car in black, and my wife's old car (that the FX replaced) was dark blue - both of them are a major pain to keep looking good. But when they do look good, nothing else compares, you just have to understand the amount of care required and be willing to put in the time.

With the umbria grayish brownish color, and the fact that it's metallic on top of that, it will be much more forgiving to care for. After five years of a jet black car, I'm thinking seriously about the umbria...although I have to agree with others that black on the M45 looks the best.

That is a gorgeous color, but nothing beats the look of a clean black car with 20% tint all around.

And somebody do the M45 a favor and rip those stupid lights off the car.

The funny thing? Thats me in the red sweater sat in the drivers seat in the second one. We were in there playing DVDs and pairing my Bluetooth phone. That car is such a toy-fest http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif

xmlguy - It is a shame Joe wasn't there to introduce us. I talked to a number of other prospective M buyers, but I missed talking to you.

BTW - I have another picture that I didn't post here, where you have a big smile on your face while sitting in the drivers seat. http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/smile.gif
