What looks better with the s13 silvia conversion, the coupe or the fast back. I like the fastback because of the 180sx tail lights for them, but the coupe kinda looks like it fits better with the silvia front clip. any suggestions, give me sum feedback. http://www.freshalloy.com/

personal preference. if you want the sil80, then go with hatch, if you want silvia, then go with coupe. personally, I like sil80, but that's me.

I think the Coupe looks better with the conversion, the hatch looks good too, but the lines of the front end match the coupe alot better, the hatches look great as is, the lines are awesome on that car.

I agree with the lines matching on the coupe rather than the hatch. I justl ike the taillights on the hatch. I dunno, I can't decide. http://www.freshalloy.com/

Another thing to consider is the coupe chassis is stronger than the FB. Knowing that, I still bought a FB. http://www.freshalloy.com/

I agree with Jhapa.....'..what you prefer..' I prefer the sil80 also. Concerning the lines matching up it all depends on which yr. conversion you get it'll all match up. http://www.freshalloy.com/

I think S13 Silvia front ends look better with coupe rears, but my dream would be to have three S13s...

Silvia for circuit racing.
Sileighty for drifting.
180SX (240SX FB) with medium street tune for everyday.

Im the only dumbass that doesnt like the silconversion. but i'd say the coupe. btw, how is the coupe have a stronger frame?

It's got a rear deck and some support structure that "boxes" in the rear section of the car. The fastback is just wide open.

I got a fastback. I'd rather go with the coupe for the silvia conversion. Just looks better.

But I'm thinking of going S14.5. S14 with S15 front. Might wanna sell my S13 hatch. But then no more $$$ for another SR swap.

So coupe has stronger frame, does that mean it's got better performance than a fastback???

Hmmm.. I love my fastback, but I like coupe too... Sil beer conversion is fun and Sil80 (S13/S13) is nice and looks cool. Too bad it's not as practical here for drifting, as Silvia fenders hoods lights bumpers, etc aren't in tons of junkyards and ready to be slapped on if you dent yours. Coupe is good roadracing/auto-x/circuit car. Fastback is drift, touge, and wangan car (with proper suspension tune)..

I wouldn't say it looks like crap, but I'm not a big fan of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the back-end of the coupe exactly the same (excluding badges of course) as the Silvia. They are the same car basically only one has pop up headlamps, a dip in the hood instead of a buldge, and a KA instead of a SR. Last I checked the P in PS13 (240sx coupe) stood for pop-up headlamps. If you put in fixed lamps then wouldn't the chassis now essentially be a S13.

If there are differences structurally that I don't know about someone please chime in and explain them.

To answer the question....it depends on your needs, and personal taste. Considering that both backends came with pop-ups, and the coupe backend also came with fixed lamps, both styles SHOULD fit perfectly with the Silvia front body panels.

Wrong about the "P" in PS13.

The "P" indicates an SR- motor in S13 models.
An "R" indicates fastback model. There is no letter to indicate pop-up lights because all coupes in Japan originally had the square front end and all fastbacks had pop-ups.

The breakdown for S13 chassis codes is as follows:

S13 - Silvia with CA-series motor.
RS13 - 180SX with CA-series motor.
PS13 - Silvia with SR-series motor.
RPS13 - 180SX with SR-series motor.

Factory Sileighties are basically just SR- powered 180SXes with Silvia front ends so they are RPS13, to the best of my knowledge.

I know that some guys in Japan swapped 180SX front ends onto their Silvias, but I don't think Nissan ever officially produced any "One-vias".

I have to say that I don't especially like the silvia conversion too much either, but if I were to do it, I would do it on a coupe, as I have liked the coupe conversions better than the fastback conversions. I like the popups myself, but I think it has to do with the silvia headlights looking too much like the stanza headlights
