View Full Version : SR20DET ARP Rod bolts work with KA24DE?

I need to get a set of ARP rod bolts for the KA24DE. I know they don't have a part number specifically for the KA, but am wondering if the SR20DET ARP rod bolts can be used. What I've found is that the Nissan part numbers are similar except in the last four digits (I'll post the numbers up later since I don't have them handy). I've also heard of earlier Datsun/Nissan engine ARP rod bolts can be used (not too sure from which motor). Let me know if you guys have any ideas.

I read an article a while back stating that the rod bolts out of VG30ET, Z31 turbo motor are the same strength as the ARP ones. I pulled them out of an old motor I had around, and they fit prefectly in the KA rods. The nuts are also almost twice as tall.

Can anyone confirm the strength of these? I know the VG30ET motor bottom end can handle some serious power, but then again, the rod bolts in a KA aren't the weakest link either. I planned on putting them in if I ever have my engine apart.
