My friend is selling a skyline MAFS for cheap, unsure if its for Rb25det or Rb26dett (is there a difference?). Anyways what kind of power can these sustain? I'm looking for something around the 300 to 325 range that can be used with an SAFC. Will this work??

My RB25DET hits MAF CUT around 10PSI, have not dynoed it yet but thats got to be right around 300WHP~... I would just get a Z32MAF.. there are WAY more people running them and WAY more support for it, especially if you decide on more power later. And FWIW I tried a RB26Maf on the car to see if it was just a bad MAF causing the cut but it cut in the same place.

How is that possoble when the skyline has the same horsepower as the 300zx though? It seems a little wierd to me.

Well when i searched some people like Hugh were saying ~270hp and others were saying as much as ~330hp ish. Right now i just need something that will do 290hp and well I can get it for 20 bucks. Its an N60 mafs, do you guys think it would sustain the 290whp safely? tuning on SAFC for now.

a gt-r runs two mafs.

But the important question, can it sustain that kind of power? I'm only looking to push about 14psi to 15psi on a T28 with it using 550cc injectors on an SAFC. would it work?

I don't see why. Enthalpy tuned a car for 500hp and used a z32 maf.

400 seems low for a Z32 unless its a little fried. But now you intelligent Nissan Gurus somebody must have an accurate answer to this.... Can the N60 mafs SUPPort this>?

like mention in post above ... its a twin maf setup

but going to the n60 ... if i remember correctly a n60 maf is the same to a maxima maf ... same plug like a z32 but should hold mid to high 300's if i'm correct.

then there's the two types of n62. the orange background which is a true z32 and then the silverish background which is a j30.

the j30 should hold if i'm correct mid 300's and the z32 mid 500's ...

NOTE: correct me if i'm wrong ...

Uh, you're wrong. The Z32 and J30 MAFS are the same, functionally. And the Z32 uses only one MAF.

my z32/j30 maf is setup blown through, and i think that may be part of the reason its maxing out sooner; although im not 100% sure, but I should also check out my .bin and make sure the ecu has the correct VQ map.

I can confirm the Z32/J30 MAF will hold over 450whp. The Q45 MAF will hold maximum of 450whp which is where I maxed mine out at.

It'll do ~320-330 hp. 4 in, 6 out is right.

Disclaimer: I've never seen an RB engine...

What is the MAF voltage when you hit this "MAF Cut?" Something tells me you are talking about the Max TTP value in the ECU. If so that really doesn't have anything to do with the maximum capabilities of the MAF. Have you tried editing the rom to change the Max TTP value to 255, across the board?

When I used a Skyline MAF, at only .7kg (about 10psi) it was maxed out on my T04E.

On the SAFC, I was seeing high 90's and if I hit 100%, the car felt like it hit a brick wall.

The skyline MAF is a fine upgrade for a stock turboed SR20, but not for anything aftermarket.
