How low is too low? I was thinking about using AGX's with KG/MM S21 super sports. I think they lower 1.75 in.? Is that too low for the AGX shocks http://www.freshalloy.com/? If they are, I'll probably run the AGX's with ST springs. And ummm what do you guys recommend I upgrade first? Anti-sway bars or strut tower bars?

Or maybe all of the old bushings? Are bushings hard to replace? I have almost no auto mechanical skills. All I've ever done is change my oil and fuel/oil filter.

Well, I have AGX's with Eibach Prokits.. I've been told that these shocks are not valved correctly for anything much less than what the prokits drop (about 1.5"). I've had a really great experience with the setup, but I still have SH!T tires and wheels, so I'm not able to feel the cornering effects as much at 10/10ths. I just start plowing and sliding due to the terrible rubber.

As far as the bars, I'd get fat swaybars before STBs if you can get em. Better yet, get them at the same time, since STBs can be found for a really cheap price. Check www.pdm-racing.com (http://www.pdm-racing.com) for swaybars and www.rollhard.com (http://www.rollhard.com) for cheap STBs.

on daily driving i roll on my agx/sportlines (2.1 inch drop) combo and i have no problems with them whatsoever. i also use 15 inch rims with 205, 55 sidewalls and keep the pressure in the tires to 34-36psi level sor street use. for the daily grind i have my fronts set to 2 and my rears set to 4 and boom! a setup thats good enough for taking the mountain roads while still keeping decent ride quality. my friend though runs on cut sportlines 3.5 inch drop! with kyb agx's and his car handles like its on rails... i dont remember what he sets his dials to on his shocks but his car handles great... i just dont know about how long the shocks witll last. we both have JIC magic coilovers though that we slap on every now and then, but the kybs can take whatever drop as long as you dont care about the life of the shocks.

How long have you been running your agx/sportline setup? Does anyone have the full specifications on kg/mm springs?

IIRC, the AGX warranty is only valid if the car is lowered less than 1.5"...for whatever that's worth.

i run exactly the same setup as r32silvia with agx/sportline and 205/55/15, except i have them set on 2/8 F/R pretty much all the time, i was wondering, does running the rears on 8 all the time hurt the life the shock? and i vaguely remember hearing that the life of the shock is also affected if you change the settings too often.. true?

thanks

I have the KYB AGX stuts with Ground Control Coilovers that were fitted by Ground Control (they took off the lower perch on the strut). I lowered my car about 3.5 inches and it hits the bump stops every now and then.

Is it true that Ground Control coilovers are only height adjustable? What's your opinion on GC coilovers? Yay or nay?

What's the lowest that you set your GC coilovers without bottoming out? I hear about people with 'cut bump stops', what's that all about?

anytime you install lowering springs it is suggested to trim the bump stops for the shock to have more travel. do not remove the bump stop cause that causes the piston to bottom out.

anytime you lower a car you should trim the bump stomps. there is a sheet with eibach springs that tell you how much to cut out. BTW I have Sportlines with agx and I don't car for it, but then again i need to order my new rims before I make final judgement.

With cut bump stops, about 3.5 inches. Only large pot holes or you forgeting about a speed bump will make them bottom out.
