My friend is going to be putting a vg30dett in a 240z, I was wondering if the rear mustache bar needs to be modified, or can I get one off a 280zx with a r200?

The suspension on the S30 (240/260/280Z) is completely different from the S130 (280ZX), and does not have a mustache bar.

Additionally, the S130 didn't have R200s...though I could be mistaken on that.

yes the s130 has an r200

also FA is great for the 240sx thing but for z stuff i would recommend other fourms like
http://zhome.com/
and
http://forums.hybridz.org/
you will find alot more info at those two sites for z cars than FA. at least from my opinion.

What size is that subaru diff? Most of the subaru's ahve a r160, datsun 510 diff, and some sti's n newer legacy's got a r180, stock 240z diff. A r200 is even bigger, and I know opf a company that makes cv axles conversions for the r200. The r200 fits on a 240z with the parts from the old 280zx with old styl axles. Unless that subbie lsd u mentioned is a CLSD r180 or bigger, i would not get it

There are a couple places that sell flanges for a the use of r200 diff with z31 turbo axles. That is a solid upgrade also.

Cool, so what axles are you running? Will the 240z flanges fit on the subbie r180? I know for the 510, the newer vlsd type lsd's take a couple mods to make them fit a 510.
