View Full Version : disconnect iacv and no difference?

During all my recent problems after i hit a few bumps i noticed the car is hard to start. in fact i have to keep pressing the gas pedal over and over to make the car start. So I decided to unplug the IACV to see if it got worse or better. To my surprise there was absolutely no change at all.

What kind of effects would a bad iacv have and how would i go about testing it? Also only code thrown is a 55.

sounds like the iacv wiring is not connected.!

I'm going to be taking the multimeter to it tomorrow. Aside from that i'll be making a block plate for the time being, annoying as Hell!!!

unfortunately the S14 uses a different IACV so there is no real fsm i can read on it. I will take it out and clean it and see if thats the prob, but god only knows.

possibly the throttle plate is open too far. There is an english S14SR manual available.

The s14 and s13 use different IACV's though. Throttle plate is 100% closed, we adjusted that a few weeks ago.
