Isn't there any way of doing a home-made conversion for two-round pop-up lights? Cause there's a plastic thingy aroung the light itself. You just modify it, and instead of having a single, square hole, you make two round holes and put smaller lights in. Wouldn't that work??

hehe i'm surprised no one posted those earlier, i remember seein them in Option2 a few months back. the dual flip ups are made by "All Round" and cost roughly about $600-650 or so (depending on exchange rate).

I'd be interested in a group buy, depending on the cost of course.. how much are we looking at here? Also do these give a increase in light output?

ken, i like the upper trim peice for that headlight.. thats exactly what i have been working on. unfortunately, i am still gathering parts before the headlight kit will be 100% complete and available to the public. I mean, its fully operational on my car and I've been enjoying them every step of the way.. BUT, before I sell them to a customer I want to make sure they are 100% finished.

I am still developing the finished motor arms and other misc parts. Once that carbon fiber trim peice is ready, it'll be show-time!

Anyway, I love seeing stuff like this. I just get amazed in how much time and material it takes to complete these damn simple projects. Cars consume SO much damn time.. just too much R&D.

Personally I'd rather have the set on the bottom on the link you posted ken. Reason being is for improved aero-dynamics and they would be 100 times easier to keep clean. I don't like the idea of having to clean around individual lights..

Blitzkrieg> Ah yes, but remember.. recessed lights will usually emit less light due to the lights being pushed back into the headlight assembly. In addition, I am not too fond of clear covers being mounted in front of the actual lenses.. I feel they interfere with the light output.

Anyway, its really all preference. I am sure I will eventually create a flush recessed headlight kit because many people like that look.. its just a matter of time.

Mike:
Just wondering, with your Hella e-code housings.. How possible would it be, if I located some stock HID's off of say, an Acura or a Merecedes, to fit this to the housings? Would the heat be a problem? Or would the difference between these(Hella housings w/ 100/130 bulbs) and the Sylvannia cool-blue replacements be night&day enough difference to satisfy me? Thanks!

HAVE YOU GUYS NOTICED THAT IF YOUR LOOKING STRAIGHT ON, ONTO A RX-7 AND A S13 THEY LOOK ALMOST THE SAME WITH SOME LIGHT MODS AND LIPS YOU CAN ACTUALLY MAKE THEM SO SIMILAR U CANT EVEN TELL JUST A THOUGHT.

blitz> dont bother retrofitting HID into the e-code housings, its not worth the hassle. getting an OEM hid system wont be to your benefit, you'de probably want to get a *decent quality* kit that has modified bulbs to fit the proper housing. BUT, the most important thing is having the right housing. IMO, the e-code headlamps are too large.. not the right housings for HID. They are designed for halogen, therefor I would recommend sticking with that.

If I would ever even recommend an aftermarket HID kit, I would recommend checking out autolamps-online.com - they sell some nicely modified bulbs.

Bottom line, if you dont have projectors dont mess with HID. Thats just my honest opinion. Look at the S2000.. that car has HID stock and its a neisance.. and thats STOCK! Imagine all that light in a 200mm ece headlight.. still glary. You'de have to point them way low.

ps: I agree, I think the 240 has a lot in commin with the FD and FC.. its like in the middle of both. FC is too boxy, FD is too curvy.. S13 = juuuust riiight. :)
