View Full Version : 4 lugs to 5 lugs brake problem.

just finished helping my buddy switch from s14 4 lug to s14 5 lug. put everything back , bleed the system and the master cylinder. but one of the s14 brakes is not working right. the brake pedal is to the metal. it seem like theres air in the brake system but we bleed the system already and check for any leaks,pinch or restriction in the lines also we checked the calipers everything looks good. 1st we thought was the master cyclinder went bad so we got another one. done everything bench bleed the master cylinder,bleed the system again. the problems still there. any ideas or where else can we check? thanks

Make sure you have the calipers on the correct sides -- the bleed screw should be pointing up. Not doing so will allow air to be trapped in the calipers.

You can check a dictionary, they'll show you how to spell brake properly.

The upside-down caliper thing is probably what is wrong but also make sure to start at the caliper furthest away from the MC and work back to it as you bleed. Some cars just get *****y about it for no good reason.

the bleeder screw is pointing up and we bleed from rr,lr,rf,and lf. ok you know when you stop the engine, pump the brake 3-5 time and the brake padle will stop soild. well, if dont do that so is that mean the booster ?

Why is the engine running while you're bleeding the brakes?

engine is not running. im talking about when you stop the engine then step on the brake rdm.
