My alternator went out last night and this is my DD. I dont have my KA one anymore, but my buddy has a FWD DET alternator sitting at his house. Are they the same? If not then maybe i'll just try to swap voltage regulators and brushes from that one, but dont if that will will work either http://forums.freshalloy.com/images/graemlins/confused.gif

You can use a stock 240sx KA24DE one. Just drill the threads out of the adjustment hole. Then swap pullies and make sure you use the correct spacer that sits under the pully. As for the fwd sr20, I have no clue if it were to fit. I looked into that a long time ago but did not find an answer. KA alternators are a dime a dozen.
