I have the greddy vspl front mount intercooler. Now I'm upgrading to a t3t4 setup and I was wondering will this intercooler be efficient from 400-450whp. I'm just wondering if it will not flow past 400 whp. Thanks in advance.

Yea, easily.

i wouldn't say that. i was heat soaking on it like mad with 360whp on the gt2871r .64. we actually gained 10-15whp by spraying water on the ic because it was so inefficient.

I don't think heatsoaking has anything to do with actual flow in terms of lb/min.

The answer is yes and no. It can be done if done right. Also, the size of the turbo and how much air it can move will play a major roll in how much the intercooler will actually have to work. For instance, if you boost an S15 turbo at say 18psi, the intercooler will work harder then using the same boost with a t67/t3. The t67 will be in a better effeciency range and is also capable of moving more volume, producing less heat.

Agreed.

I think there are cheaper better options out there.

The Greddy RSPL HG is around $200 more and good for 400+hp. It is a tube and fin design and it also comes with polished aluminum piping. The HKS Type S is also good for 400+hp but it costs more and only comes with powdercoated steel piping. Finally, the Blitz LM is another intercooler good for 400+hp. It costs similar to the Greddy RSPL and comes with aluminum piping but the piping is unpolished.

If you go with a jdm intercooler kit I say go for the Greddy RSPL for efficiency and bling.

Then again, you can build a custom setup for less $$.

Yup like 200 shipped for a good core and 200 for custom intercooler piping.

I have the vspl with the piping already. Will the xs core bolt up or any other cores that might bolt up to my greddy piping?

the xs core is 30.5".. if i remember right the vspl is 31.5" long. so yes, it should fit just about fine.

Thats the one I was referring to. Now I just need to get someone to make me piping.

i bought the Blitz LM because of the tube and fin design. It was well worth the extra money...i dont really care about the polished piping. no bling for me.

I like bar and plate IC's better than tube and fin. The B&P IC's seem to hold up to rocks, bugs, etc.

LOL...no problems yet.

I checked the xs engineering website and seen the core for 400+ but I didn't see the end tanks on it . Do they come with end tanks? So I really can't used my greddy one, that sucks.

i like the blitz LM because of the 3inch piping. you should look into it. i think blitz sells the endtanks seperately for rebuilds. look up phase2 and talk to wayne...he sells alot of blitz parts.

check out killjoy's thread, I posted an intercooler picture from hiprollc.com. I got an intercooler with brackets for 205 shipped from them and it is a very good intercooler.

I don't believe that that xs engineering is the same as the company that made this intercooler. Just similiar I think.

not related at all... xs engineering is a completely different company.

xs power = ssautochrome

i hate their manifolds... but their fmic's are great!!!

Yeah bar and plate cools better but doesn't it have more of a pressure drop?
