View Full Version : my sr20det has no spark, please help if possible.

first of all i have an apexi power fc installed. correct me if i'm wrong but the commander is suppose to display the apexi screen when you put the ignition swich to on. then its suppose to go to the main menu srceen or to whatever its setup to display right??

i notice that my commander doesn't do that anymore. it just displays the word apexi. also i'm not getting any spark all of sudden. i do have power going to the coil pack connectors when the ignition is on.

i know its not my cas because i tried a brand new one. i also tried my coil packs and ignitor on another car and they both worked fine.

i just sent my ecu back to apexi to get checked out and also might send my wiring harness out to get checked out at www.wiringspecialties.com (http://www.wiringspecialties.com) if everything turns out ok with the ecu.

I just want to know if anyone has ever experience this problem that i'm having.

My car is a 95 240sx w/ s13 blacktop sr20det swap. i did notice that i'm getting power at the ecu pins that send a signal to the injectors, but i have no power at the pins that send a signal to my ignitor.

Wow I'can't beleive this I'm having the same problem. I just recently swaped my S13 BlackTop into my 1995 Nissan 240sx. I put like $14,000 into the engine alone. There is nothing stock not even a radiator hose they are all blue 4ply silicon. I too bought a Power FC with the commander from a company called JPS-trading.com for $760.00. My problem is that I'm receiving power to all cyclinders besides the forth one. So I'm only running on 3 cyclinders. I have spent 2 months and too much $$$$ trying to fix the problem. I had my Wiring Harness sent to Yury at Wiring Specialties.com. The first thing I checked was replacing the ignitor chip. Still had the same problem. Then yury told me to check conunuaty on the wiring from the ECU to the Ignitor chip and from the chip to the coil packs. They were all fine even the Ignition ground. Then I checked to see if the Coil pack harness had conunuaty, power and ground, all power, ground and signal from the ECU besides the last cyclinder. I also replaced all the coil packs with brand new ones, new NGK Iridium Spark plugs & New 555cc Nismo injectors, and still nothing. So due to this I resumed that the brand new ECU is defective? So I sent it to Apexi and it will arive tommarrow only $187.00 to Japan!!!!!! Anyways, when I was checking to see I realized today that there are two types of S13 Black tops, an earlyer version and the later one off a 180sx. The only two difference are the ECU. And when I looked I saw that I have the later one. I think this is what's my problem because maybe the wiring is different. Please respond with feed back on how you fixed your problem, I would greatly appreciate it, I have been without a car for about 4 months and it's driving me nuts. Thanks.

was that commander an used unit or brand new?maybe its locked with the password.

I to have problems with my PowerFC. I bought i Power FC from the same company Jap parts specialist. I bought one for the Early Redtop SR20DET 91-93. I got the ECU and it fitted in the stock ECU plug. But when i turned the key the display didnt power up neither did the PowerFC. I have to bridge the main relay in the engine compartment to get the ECU to recieve power. So in some way the PowerFC doesnt send the right signal ( that being a positive or a ground i dont know!:( . Or something else. ) It works fine with the stock ECU. So in some way the PowerFC i either NOT sending a signal to the main relay ( ECCS circiut.) Or the PowerFC not RECIVING power to pass on to the main relay.. And the thing that annoys me most is that when i remove the bridge from the main relay the PowerFC forgets its settings.. Because if all the things worked, the normal way the ECCS circuit works ( engine relay circiut.) is that when you power of with your key, there is a 5 seconds Memory power to the ECU.. And it apears that i dont get that either.. I cant firgure this out? :caged:

yury @ WS had a problem with s13sr to s14chassis wiring. email him it probably has to do with the harness and possibly also your pfc

I have tried e-mailing wiringspecialist. As they seems to be VERY well known here.. But they havent returned my mail... And thats along time ago... And i bet they would be able to help me.. But i shouldn have any issues with S13 to S14 wiring because my car was born a SR20DET 180SX imported from Japan..
