View Full Version : Dip stick came out and oil all over the place. . .

i had a problem with my SR S15 motor with the dip stick out and oil coming from the dipstick during drag racing at the track. . .would anyone know what would cause this problem. . .thanks (boosting around 15-16psi)13.1@110mph 2.1 60ft on 18inch Volk Racing Wheels. . .Stock T28 (also have solid engine mounts)

excesive pressure in the block usually caused by blow by, do you have the stock catch can or aftermarket one hooked up correctly?

yes i do have a catch can. . .just the one fo the valve cover made by with cockpit wako! http://

Do a compression test, there are many threads about the dip stick popping out and normally the engines not in great shape...GL!

make sure the oil catch can hooked up right...one hose to the valve cover, the other hose to intake. if you did hooked them up right, it must be your engine block intertal, somewhere in there got stucked, get some oil cleaner, flush your internal, you can get those at autozone or pepboys.

maybe my rings could be done but not sure. . .My car has been tune by one of the finest HKS tuners. . .I'm running an HKS F-Con V Pro Unit. . .

Hey Man if you can get a hold of a compression tester check your compression or do a leakdown test. It can be rings, cracked ring land, or a host of other things, lets hope its not that bad. If compression is good it could be something with the catch can or hoses that are part of that setup being clogged.

I had my dipstick pop out at the track over a year ago. Got home and my compression was 180-0-180-180.

can solid engine mounts cause the dip stick to pop out from vibration and also wear and tear on the dip stick itself. . . compression is fine.

nope, natta chance, check your vacuum lines, ive seen one guy hook what was supposed to be intake vacuum to the pressure side.

- I had the same problem on a s13 w/topmount turbo before...i was running some friends and started to smell like burnt oil - i stopped the car and opened the hood to find a nice little engine fire from the oil that got on the turbo exhaust side It seemed to run just fine but I ended up selling that car - my advice it to find the problem and fix it ASAP before anything bad would happen (God forbid)

?????...What were your compression test results from cyl 1 thru 4 we obviously know you have stock compression,How can we help when you are not being direct with the info??It is very important you check your compression or take it in to a qualified technician to do it for you.

my compression was reading 150-150-150-150. . .
