This os new information to me. I was not aware that there were differnet lenghts of bolts for the main caps. There is no indication in the FSM that any are shorter than others (normally the FSM is really good about this type of information)

I also just looked at my old main bolts, they are all the same length. If those 2 don't go all the way in, you may want to make sure that the threads are completely clean.

The main bolts are all the same length. The ARP bolts that most guys use are made for the FWD sr20. When installed in a det the upper oil pan will not seat properly against the block or it will crack because 2 of the bolts protrude to far past the nut and hit the upper pan, there isn't any clearance for them unless they are grinded down.

To the original poster, those 2 are the ones that needed to be cut down a bit. If you test fit your upper pan with the bolts in, you can double check and actually tell which two are going to hit.
