View Full Version : 4 individual throttle bodies on a KA

Would it be possible to put 4 individual throttle bodies on the KA, instead of a single one? I know I saw this on a few other cars, but is there any real use for that on a KA?

Yep, I have 4 ITBs, they're called Mikunis..... http://www.freshalloy.com/

That might sound ignorant, but what exactly do you get from having that? Lots of HP gains? I guess the engine breathes a lot better... Noise? Overheating (no cold air)?

ITBs will give you better flow characteristics up high in the revs, as well as a potentially higher intake velocity, but will most likely decrease your low RPM torque numbers, but perhaps the best thing about them is that they are ITBs...very cool. Check out TWM induction

With ITB like IGOTSBOTH said you will prolly loose a little lowend tourqe do to intake tuning (or lack of) however the throttle responce and high end gain will more than outwiegh any disadvatage. Plus.. with 2.4 liters to play with.. Loss of a couple lb/ft of tourqe.. pffff.. who cares.. http://www.freshalloy.com/

Not to mention ITBs are an EXPENSIVE route. Injectors, throttle bodies, manifold, and stand-alone engine management (can't use your MAF without a plenum) are all going to ring up around $2000 or more. Unless you absolutely in love with N/A power (or race competitively in an N/A class), there are other ways to increase your VE more cost effectively.
