Sold the VG swap out of my S13 a while back and the chassis has just been sitting around so I figured I'd throw a stock SR20 in it to drive around and have a little fun with. Since I already had the bay all cleaned up and shaved I figured I might as well hide the wiring on the SR. Heres how its coming along...

looks fantastic. you're going to have to change your screenname now..... why go thru all the trouble of hiding all the wires when you have those wires running over your pass side carpet? or are you still in progress over there?

Thanks guys!

Nonissan, the wiring under the dash there isn't quite buttoned up yet, picking up a battery today so I can finish things up over there. And trust me, you definatly won't see any wiring in the car either. I'll post more pics soon, I'm trying to get the car done by next weekend...

Judging from the compressorless engine, looks as though it has long been gone.

Do you plan on keeping the Power Steering too? How do you plan on hiding that stuff?

Im thinking of ditching mine just to clean up the bay but I know Ill miss it.

if your just driving in a straight line i wouldnt worry about the power steering but if you plan on turning for drifting, auto-x or any form turning hard you will wish you had it.

300sx
08-16-2006, 11:42 PM
Yea no power steering is no fun, tried it already. Didn't like the way it felt at speed, hit a big bump in a turn and the wheel would jerk out of your hand. I do plan on keeping the power steering, I'll have some pics of the hidden resevior as soon as I get it done. I plan on eventually doing a custom pressure line but I don't have the time right now.

As far as wiring, I guess I'm pretty much self taught, just alot of searching and reading on the intenet and wiring diagrams.

I think im a little confused.. aren't you just adding some length to the wires?

Any more pictures of the T/C rod bracket brace, it looks good. Do you have to remove the dash to fill the brake master cylinder?

yeah but to the average member who just watched tokyo drift and cant figure out how to get their key out of their ignitionout of there s13 coupe (they just bought and drove home for the first time) cleaning up wires is uber pro thing. lol

When you placed your master cylinder in your dash for the vg30de swap, did you keep your brake booster? If so, how? Thanks from another VG swap owner.

P.S. On a side note, why did you sell the VG swap? It made lots of power and should have been fun to drive, so why sell it? Did the 61 have too much boost lag?

Dont tell me this was the S13 VG30TT. I'm going to cry. That was an amazing machine. Whyyy whyyyy anyway you were my hero in the swap business. You inspired me to do a z31 swap to a s13 and now this. Anyway looks good for a sr20det stock..... But looks good.

Thats a lot of work and ingenuity, my friend....very clean.

Questions:

How to check brake fluid with the dash in the way??

Is the brake master cylinder hooked somehow with a special mechanism to operate when the brake pedal is press???

Sorry for the delay in updates.... heres some more pics that'll hopefully help answer some questions. I still have to repaint the valvecover (as you can see :( ), mod the air inlet and get a filter. Car is going to be down because my super hidden, fun to get to clutch master cylinder crapped out on me yesterday :woohoorun:
