View Full Version : Nissan or Mazda?

Guys I need your help I am in the middle of trying to buy a second car to cure my craving for speed (weekend racer). My two chose of cars are S13 240sx or ’88 Mazda 323 GTX. Of course, whichever car I get will be modified to suit my need.

Car specs
240SX RWD with SR20DET swap
323 GTX AWD turbo rally car

PS. Both cars are limited when it comes to top speed, Mazda is limited at 120mph and Nissan is limited at 130mph and I am more interested in run and race.

SCC did a 323 as a project car. here's the link;

although i really love quirky, cool cars like the 323 GTX, i would personally turbo a 240 hands down.

I'd say if you can only get one get the 240. If you could get the 323 now and the 240 later get the 323. 323's are harder to find than 240s so you might miss your chance if you pass one up.

I also like quirky cars like the 323 GTX. I'm not sure how well it'll do as a 1/4 mile car though.

If you want an interesting car to run 1/4 mile with, look for an old Mitsubishi Galant VR4. From what I've heard, same basic motor and drivetrain as a Mitsu GSX/AWD Eagle Talon.

One of the biggest benefits of going with a VR4 is that there are quite a lot of aftermarket parts available for them.

You know what this is funny but my brother has two 323GTX and one Mitsubishi Galant VR4. His friend is selling his GTX so I have access to getting one.

PS. Two weeks ago my brother raced against a 12.5 sec RX7 and bet him by 2 car length in mile street race.

You're really asking the wrong people if you don't want a baised answer. Get the 240, nothing beats the feeling of rear wheel drive.

I been thinking about getting a 323 for about 2 years now, They are kinda hard to come by in my neck of the woods. There is a ton of info on them, on australian sites. The main reason I would pick a 323 over a galant or talon is that it weighs alot less, and when you can find them they sell for cheaper than $2k

This site has some good stuff
