One of my friends told me that this engine fits very nicely into a 1995 240SX....Why the hell is labor cost so damn high then? Im getting this engine but i want to know if its possible for me to save money on the labor..

I have this motor in my S13. You need custom motor mounts, custom tranny mounts, custom drive shaft, and then the wiring. The wiring is nothing like the SR's or KA's.

We charge about $8000 for everything. Thats drive in drive out.

He knows.
His web designer did that and has yet to correct it.

Skyline240, I think you need to rethink the criticism towards Grumpy's shop. If you do as much actual work and fabrication as they do at their shop, you'd understand there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything you want done, let alone update their website. I think if you have questions you should call Grumpy personally. There's a reason McKinney is in business...it puts food on the table. You surely understand that if he agrees to give you tips or helps you out on the internet, others will be knocking down his door for information and free help. It's his perogative if he decided to give you this info, but please be more discreet about it. I'm sorry if I'm coming across the wrong way but things are just seen differently when you're in the business too. You're lucky enough to live in Cali, I'd suggest giving the business to Grumpy and making sure you're getting a quality finished product when you happily drive out of their shop in San Diego. http://www.freshalloy.com/

so what does an rb25 weigh? are rb parts impossible to get? maybe the sr would be a better deal, too many choices! i cant decide!

If you can afford RB25 go for it...thats what im doing...getting parts for an RB engine isint that hard, a bit expensive, but they are reliable engines....its like having a subaru..im getting an rb25 in the summer.

If going Nissan 6-cylinder, why not consider the VG30DETT? http://www.freshalloy.com/

Has anyone ever tried using the front cross-member from an R31 skyline? From speaking to a guy in Austrailia who has done this swap several times before it seems like this makes for more of a 'bolt-in' conversion..

Please visit this thread for info on a RB engine that you so desperately seek:
