Anyone know if the ka24e oil pump on the s13 can be replaced with an L-series block oil pump? I can get my hands on a 280zx high pressure oil pump for pretty cheap.

I know that all of the L-series blocks share basic components, but not sure about the L-series mating to ka series. Also, the old napz z24 engines were the old version of the ka24e I believe.

Thanks in advance...

Yes, the oil pump on the KA24E is interchangeable with the oil pump for the L-series motors.

edit: I should have said that they are physically interchangeable maaning either one can bolt up to either motor, however, I'm not sure if the flow rates and pressures are the same.

280zx turbo oil pump is the one to use.

280zx turbo pushes more oil?

280zx turbo pushes more oil?

only if the KA24E's pump pushes the same amount as all other L series oil pumps do.

if so, all L series oil pumps push 14.5 mL of oil per pump revolution with the exception of the 280zx turbo's, which pumps 16.4 mL to compensate for the additional oil to the turbocharger.
