Does the J30 diff have cooling fins, and the orange LSD tag? Supposedly the junk yard sold us a J30 LSD. But it has a smooth diff cover, and no tag from what I can tell.
Also, what fluid should be used, if it is indeed an LSD? I'm a big fan of Redline but would probably use any other synthetic if recommended.
Thanks for the info
Michael

no it doesnt need any special lube, just regular diff oil is fine(its a sealed unit, so it doesnt need addatives) <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial[/img]that is wrong it does need limited slip differential oil. Or limited slip differential additive.
If he puts regular diff oil in it , without the additive it will wreck the VLSD.

im not 100% on the fins, so i wont comment, but the sticker is just that; a sticker, i can come off, see if you can turn it by hand, it should be very hard(im a big guy, and i had a hard time) but if you spin one, the other should turn the same direction in an vlsd
