Is this head still good? I have another one but I'm not sure if I should recycle this thing or save it. Let me know if more pictures would help.
Both camshafts broke where the cam gear connected.

I'd source another one...

You can find them on www.car-part.com for $150-200, and shipping from junk yards is usually cheap...even on heavy items.

The cam seats/bearings near the gears looks pretty worn and there's not anyway that I know of to repair that. Junk yard/wtb forum time.

If there are no cams in it, then why are your #4 exhaust valves down?

Motor was in bad shape. I'm only looking to use the short block and the accessories that came off of it. The valve cover was broken, broken timing chains, and broken camshafts which could explain why the pistons bent the valves which might be the cause for #4 exhaust valves down. (assumption) I was about to bring the head to a recycling facility but I wanted to get some opinions before I did. Thanks for the info everyone.

It looks like you lit the head on fire. The entire thing looks charred.

Why do you suppose the camshafts broke? (Hint on whether or not to use it)
