The Infiniti EX35, which goes on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide on December 21, 2007, offers an exceptional combination of seductive design, elegant interior and advanced technology systems -- including the debut of the available Around View Monitor (AVM) system, which utilizes four small cameras to give the driver a "top-down view" of the outside of the vehicle while parking. The new EX also becomes the second Infiniti production vehicle, following the fall introduction of the 2008 Infiniti M, to offer the new Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system, and the first to feature "Scratch Shield," a special "self-healing" clear coat designed to maintain its gloss level over time and keep the EX looking new.
The 2008 EX is available in four models - EX35 RWD (rear-wheel drive), EX35 RWD Journey, EX35 AWD (all-wheel drive) and EX35 AWD Journey. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) pricing of each model is:
-- $31,300 for the EX RWD
-- $34,850 for the EX RWD Journey
-- $32,700 for the EX AWD with ATTESA E-TS intelligent all-wheel drive system
-- $36,250 for the EX AWD Journey

The Infiniti EX's sculpted elegance expresses a timeless appeal -- sleek lines that portray speed, grace and finesse, with the look and feel of a luxury coupe and an SUV's interior flexibility.
EX was also conceived to offer a reinvigorating and engaging interior environment, one that is both indulgent and inspiring, with room for four passengers, as well as three golf bags in the cargo area with the rear seat in the upright position.
All 2008 EX models offer a long list of standard equipment, including a 297-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine, 5-speed automatic transmission with Manual Shift Mode and Drive Sport Mode (DSM), assisted by Downshift Rev Matching (DRM) and Adaptive Shift Control (ASC), Infiniti Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition and XM(R) Satellite Radio (XM(R) subscription required, sold separately), 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, aluminum interior trim, 7-inch color monitor display, 8-way power driver's seat and more.
EX35 Journey models add power slide/tilt moonroof with one-touch activation, front and rear leather-appointed seating surfaces, an industry- leading power-folding second row seat, auto-dimming inside mirror with electronic compass, HomeLink(R) Universal Transceiver, front and rear sonar system and auto on/off headlights.
Available industry-leading EX35 technology features include the Around View Monitor (AVM) system, Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system, RearView Monitor, Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) and Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC). For audiophiles, EX offers an available 11-speaker Bose(R) Premium Audio System with Burr-Brown 24-bit DAC, two subwoofers, 6CD in-dash changer and iPod(R) connectivity. Also available is an advanced voice-activated, touch-screen Infiniti Navigation System featuring available XM(R) NavTraffic(TM) with real-time traffic information (requires active XM(R) subscription), which includes a 9.3GB Music Box hard drive for digital music storage and playback.
2008 EX35 equipment packages include the Premium Package ($2,150); Luxe Elite Package ($1,650); Navigation Package ($2,150); Technology Package ($1,950); and Luxe Style Package ($1,250). Also offered is maple wood trim ($450) and roof rails ($200).

"The EX blends all the best attributes of each segment to create a perfect vehicle that appeals to men and women of all ages and family sizes."
Infiniti offers a full-line of luxury performance automobiles, including the G sports coupe and sedan, the M luxury performance sedan, FX premium crossover SUV, QX full-size luxury SUV, and the EX personal luxury crossover, which goes on sale in December. Good base prices, but how many base models are they really going to sell? You have to have the Journey model to get any of the other options (correct?). So it's going to be hard to stay under $40k. Which puts it at basically the same price as the FX.

Some dealer chart from another post had the breakdown and most models shipped will be near 40 K. This was expected as g35x loaded is 40 K. This thing will be faster than fx 35 and more luxurious.

A $47,455 Infiniti EX. That's what I just priced mine out at with destination. Hey, I love my FX, I guess I'll have to love my EX for $8,000 more than my '04! I actually can't wait. It will have all the goodies, but I'm really afraid I'm going to love the '09 FX even more. Well, I think the new FX will be priced out of my bracket anyway. Especially when I load it up. My brother's Jeep SRT8 for the same price will still destroy me, but mine will run better. Is that what I can say to him? he he. I'm still excited, but will really miss this FX. It's been such a great car, and I heard they toned down the most beautiful exhaust note I've ever heard from a vehicle (besides the G35/37 and 350Z.) Oh, I'll miss the great, deep bucket seats, and my favorite color... LASER RED!!! Infiniti, why did you take my favorite color from me?? What about a trailer hitch? Where's that? I NEED THAT! Please don't bash me for missing my FX. It, by far, has been the best vehicle I've owned as far as matching me as a 30 year-old guy. My dealership, International Autos, gives us a '07 G35 loaner, and it's a hoot to drive. The seats are nothing like the FX though. I'm crossing my fingers, and pray that the EX will take a lot of it's soul from the FX, but smaller.

Oh, who thinks they will put an exhaust on their EX if it doesn't sound like your FX? Good luck to all of us who have ordered our new EX!

Do you need all that stuff? Compare it to the BMW X3 pricing.

No one needs $2250 worth of plastic for the aerodynamic kit...so that takes it down to $45k right there. :26:

Yeah, then $45,000 makes it really cheap then. ;) I'll take two for that price. What does anyone think of a trailer hitch? Do you think it will be availiable? I see not off the bat, but maybe later? There are a few issues cropping up here where I'm starting to second-guess my decision. Well, I guess while I have the bluetooth on, using the laser-cruise, and having the LDW keeping me in the lanes that will be worth it in the end. I will not have to touch the wheel! JK. Still should be a neat car after that exhaust system gets a tweaking.

You know there has been this battle on this site over what the EX35 is. Many of you are up in arms over rear seat room even though the Infiniti video stated it was designed for a 1/2 person "group" that wants/needs more room than a coupe with a small trunk. Now the question comes on a DVD player and again Infniti showed what the vehicle was built for.... 1 or 2 people and some storage room NOT a SUV for hauling the kids and such. I hope not a person is surprised that there is NO DVD player. There is room for more than 2 people but it is not a people hauler!!!! That is what a QX56 is for!!!

Even if I skip the aerodynamic kit I'm at almost $49K with tax (7% in NJ). No way am I paying almost 50K for this, I don't think it's worth it...I'd rather get a used 06' FX45, with no more than 20K miles...under 40K.

For reference,

Acura RDX starts at $33,195
Acura RDX w/ Tech. Pkg. $36,695

Higher starting price but cheaper loaded price with less features than a loaded EX35. Also, it only has 240 HP and has been knocked for it's powertrain. It is just a turbocharged four.

Lexus RX350 starts at $37,400 for FWD.

Not quite the same but the closest match from Lexus. Still can't match the power and it surely won't come close in performance to the EX35. Also has lots of additional packaging that costs an arm and a leg compared to the packages for the EX35.

BMW X3 starts at $38,000

Still no match in power with 270 HP. Lots of expensive packages but avilable 6-speed manual.

Overall the EX35 seems to be priced aggressively. The biggest competition may come in house with the 2nd-gen Murano looking pretty good.

Why the red face?

Pets have owners. People usually have employers. Though some might feel owned...

The starting prices for this car is decent but this is same thing Audi does. You can get an A3 for 25k(and that sounds lovely). However after you opt for doors, windows and a engine it runs you 34k so the starting prices really mean nothing.

45k is up there. When they start producing this car with the new VQ engine your looking at 50k+ for a fully loaded EX. I imagine the next G coupe will max around 47k. That's crazy.

Bring back the days when people wouldn't pay 50k for an Infiniti so they can drop these prices a bit.

Exchange rates being what they are, it could well get worse. The Germans are probably going to have to raise prices when their currency hedges expire.

I went onto Infiniti to max out a G coupe the other day - I believe it came to 47,500ish.

People complain about the price being too high. Think of the new technology we have these days, people. Just a few years ago noone would even have heard of lane departure, or laser guided cruise control, or hard drives in your car. Almost all the cars in its class can get loaded to astronomical levels - it's all about how much technology you want.

I think the price is warranted by that interior. The attention to detail, the high quality materials, and the workmenship. All that doesn't come cheap.

I'd not sure the EX35 meets my personal needs, but I do think it is worth every penny.

Does the "non Journey" AWD model have leather seats? Journey model adds "leather-appointed seating surfaces." But I am finding it hard to believe anyone would pay 32k for a car that doesn't have leather : )

"EX35 Journey models add power slide/tilt moonroof with one-touch activation, front and rear leather-appointed seating surfaces, an industry- leading power-folding second row seat, auto-dimming inside mirror with electronic compass, HomeLink(R) Universal Transceiver, front and rear sonar system and auto on/off headlights."

Alos, what is the "HomeLink Universal Transceiver" and "Front and rear sonar system?" I am thinking for 5k I can live without these things. (I hardly ever use my sunroof.) But I was just hoping to better understand what all these things are.

Today I drove the Honda CR-V. It was really nice overall, but the engine noise (revving) was SO loud! The sales guy told me that is so it feels more "sporty." I just think it is annoying.

Mercedes sold quite a few GL450s for $60,000 with vinyl seats. At least when it first came out none of those I saw at dealers had leather. Many buyers probably thought they were leather :)

The salesman even thought the base interior was partially leather. But it was all vinyl. And a lot more money than an EX35.

The base EX35 AWD has cloth seats. For leather you need the Journey.

Homelink is a universal garage door opener.

The front sonar will beep as you pull up close to something in front of you, so you'll know not to hit it. Not as useful as rear obstacle detection, since you can usually tell how close you are to something in front of you.

The Acura RDX is much more comparable to the EX35 than the CR-V is.

You can configure a vehicle based on the features you want or compare prices and features across models on my site, here:

The possibility for cloth seats is one of the reasons I'm interested in the EX. I prefer cloth for my chair at work and for my funiture at home. Same story for a car.

I'm sure than many of these options will be integrated as standard features in the near future. For the present, Infiniti needs to see what people want.

Is the pricing structure that much different from the G?
