As someone else suggested you should do a multiple security deposit lease. I understand putting a bunch of money down and then totalling the car scenario so your money is better tied up in refundable security deposits. You can put up to 9 which will lower the money factor 90 basis points and your payment significantly. Just another option.....good luck.:auto:

I just recently found out about the multiple security deposits from Edmunds and it's a good idea.
That would be a good way to lower your payments from what begins as a good deal, but I can't stomach starting out with a bad rate and having to put up so much of my money to get the rate down to a reasonable number.
