The new Infiniti EX35 has just earned the Insurance (http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/01/10/infiniti-ex35-gets-2008-iihs-top-safety-pick-award/#) Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick award for 2008, making it the first Infiniti to win the award. To qualify for the award, a model must earn the highest rating of good in IIHS’s front, side and rear crash tests and must be equipped with electronic stability control.
“Criteria to win are tough because the award is intended to drive continued safety improvements such as top crash test ratings and rapid addition of electronic stability control, which is standard equipment on the EX35,” says Institute president Adrian Lund. “Recognizing vehicles at the head of the class for safety helps consumers distinguish the best overall choices without having to sort through multiple test results.”

Just wait til some consumer magazine does a 5 mph crash bumper test resulting in $8,000 in damages to the rear bumper on the EX.

The tests included front, side and rear impacts. Of course, the tests are about the protection of the occupants.

I wonder why so many people are so negative against this vehicle?

Thanks! I am really enjoying my EX. It has a great driving position with the cockpit feeling of the whole vehicle enveloping you, but without feeling cramped. It's a pleasure to drive. I am about to wash it right now.
