To comply with Connecticut state law, AVM installed in new vehicles shipped by Infiniti to Connecticut dealers has been reconfigured to operate only in reverse. See this bulletin for further detail.

but what's the big deal....it goes off at 6mph.

What is the intent behind such a law? You have to move forward to parallel park right?

Somebody probably sued somebody for something, somewhere...hence this goofy law.

Those CT drivers are gonna get lots of tickets for going over the crosswalk line.
like G2 said, it's a 'survival of the stupidest' law.

Again a stupid (or poorly written) law ruins things for many. Parking w/AVM is SO convenient and reassuring when used in BOTH directions; now CT drivers can't avail themselves of a potentially incident-preventing technology.
Wonder if the savants that make CT laws will 86 blind spot detection too...
