The ironic thing is that the picture isn't Europe. It's Hoover Tower at Stanford Univeristy. Go figure.

Based on what I have read, the 3.7 looks nice on paper but aside from the horsepower advantage, it still has not proven itself as the better engine in all aspects.

What about the 7 speed auto?

I wouldn't call it 'messed up' at all. I love the fact that cars are changing more rapidly...things were getting kind of stale. Auto sales are down tremendously. Maybe changing things up more frequently will cause those who have money to buy/lease more frequently. I haven't made it to 3 years on any car I have owned in the last 12 years. Mostly I lease for 24 monhs.

Agreed!

Remember also that every engine/transmission combination has to undergo fairly substantial EPA testing and calibration.

I'm wondering how many NA buyers will hold off on ANY 35 models now.

So torque increase isn't huge. But like the G37, the flatter more urgent curve and a 7 speed auto will mean better 0-60 and drivability. Damn, now I want this.

Why would you want to pay $60,000 base for an EX37 like the Europeans pay?
They get more because they pay more.

A BMW X3 ranges from 29,405 pounds to 39,005 . Which is $58,365 to $77,418.
