Does anyone know if TPMS can be disabled by user?

The question is that I see no need for such system as I check it every 2nd fuel up and don't feel like spend extra $300 on my winter rims just for the sensors. (As 17" winters in Canada is costing a pretty penny already).

No you cannot disable TPMS, especially in Canada where it is mandatory on all new cars.

It's no big deal, a light will come on the dash if it detects that TPMS is not functioning, just ignore the light...

But won't prolong absence of sensor will affect the system where it need recalibration when oem tires goes back on?

Shouldn't, it's just a radio signal that gets transmitted, never had a problem on my G35 coupe, and put non-sensored winters on every year.

I wouldn't worry about it...
