View Full Version : Car covers for the EX35?

Anyone have an opinion on car covers for the EX35? We've decided to buy one for outdoor use. I'm not finding all that many choices specifically for the EX35 and I know nothing about the different brands.

I think I would be afraid to use one that it would scratch it while putting it on and taking off. But I've never used one before so I don't know?

The official EX car cover from Infiniti (http://www.infiniti.com/ex/dealer_accessories.html) is $200.00 + $10 for the security cable & lock. But over at Infiniti Parts People (http://www.infinitipartspeople.com/SearchProduct.asp?Model=EX35&catid=3410592804968411&year=08&productdesc=Car+Cover) (which I suspect has the same item?) the cover listed for the EX is slightly less expensive at $192 & $7.20 respectively. Neither site has a pic.

But Infiniti says theirs is made of Weathershield fabric which is what Covercraft's are made of (offered at autoanything.com (http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/60A1007A0A0.aspx), although I don't see one listed for the EX yet over there.) Still, I'd imagine they are the same thing as what's pictured there.

It unfortunate that they don't have a picture on the Infiniti website -- they don't even say what color it is. There are some pics http://www.nissanparts.org/PartPictures/6751%20p5.gif over at Nissan Parts.org (http://www.nissanparts.org/) but they don't list one specifically for the EX35 yet.

I sent out a few emails. Lexa, thanks for the Infiniti Parts People link. I'm guessing that if Weathershield/Covercraft is good enough for Infiniti it should be good enough for me.

EXc Woman, I thought about the scratching, but I'm guessing if the product did scratch, it would have been nixed rather quickly by the Infiniti folks. It's just that during the day the car really needs one. At night it's parked underground so it's fine.

espressomac, I just noticed that autoanything now has four car covers listed for the EX 35 (http://www.autoanything.com/car-covers/20A10004A1.aspx), including the weathershield from covercraft.

Thanks for the heads up, but we ordered it about a week ago and received it Saturday. Goes on the EX35 tomorrow during the day. The color? It's light gray. Material feels like the stuff used to make light tents.

Years ago, I had a cover for an Austin Healey, sold by a co. called MG Mitten. It had a felt like material on the inside, that actually provided a polishing effect. Don't know if they are still in business. The neighborhood cats finally destroyed it.:(

The cover fits and works great. It's easy on and easy off. Although the sheeth for the antenna looks, um, a bit funny sticking up the way it does.
