If you're looking for a smaller companion to your Infiniti EX35 (because buying a second EX35 would be overkill) you may not have to wait much longer. Both Leftlane (http://www.leftlanenews.com/infiniti-working-on-premium-small-car.html) and EGM Car Tech (http://www.egmcartech.com/2008/05/01/infinti-planning-a-bmw-1-series-rival/) are quoting an Autocar report that states that Infiniti is working on a competitor to the BMW 1-series (http://www.bmw.com/com/en/newvehicles/1series/overview.html) or the Audi A3 (http://www.audiusa.com/audi/us/en2/new_cars/Audi_A3.html). EGM goes even further to say that if Infiniti builds the new small car with their 3.7L V6, then BMW has something to worry about. I love competition.

Maybe for yet another member of the 'family', they could make a competitor for the Lexus SC. After all, most babies are 'bald' on top!;)

Speaking of convertibles, it looks like an Infiniti G37 convertible may be around the corner.

An article on Topspeed (http://www.topspeed.com/cars/infiniti/2009-infiniti-g37-convertible-ar39487.html) gives a preview of it. More links at Zercustoms (http://www.zercustoms.com/custom-auto-classifieds.php?q=g37+convertible&sa=Google+Search&client=pub-0693111881291911&forid=1&channel=5232879259&ie=ISO-8859-1&oe=ISO-8859-1&safe=active&flav=0003&sig=QKJo9pL7K6TnqcwF&cof=GALT%3A%2340FF50%3BGL%3A1%3BDIV%3A%23000000%3B VLC%3A40FF50%3BAH%3Acenter%3BBGC%3A333333%3BLBGC%3 A333333%3BALC%3A40FF50%3BLC%3A40FF50%3BT%3AFFFFFF% 3BGFNT%3AFF9933%3BGIMP%3AFF9933%3BLH%3A0%3BLW%3A0% 3BL%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.zercustoms.com%2Fimages%2Fb annergs.jpg%3BS%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.zercustoms.com% 2Findex.php%3BFORID%3A11&hl=en).

Wow, an Infiniti convertible with all the gadgets and bells and whistles of the EX35... one can dream right?

Cute!

But I'm still partial to the lines on the SC for some reason. It's strange, but that one seems like it's carrying more of the the FX/EX DNA - in its 'skin' at least.

Maybe there was some inter-factory hanky-panky goin' on?

Well, Nissan made it official a few week ago that they will be launching a convertible, the G37, they finally have made pictures available.

They do seem to be moving towards their new 3.7 Liter engine with the 7 speed automatic transmission, so maybe the next EX will have them too.

back to the original topic.

i think a small vehicle from Infiniti would be a great idea.

I think the use of the 3.7l engine and a 7-speed automatic would be a great idea.

A small V6 (2.5l?) would be a great idea. Better yet, a 6-spd manual offered with both engine choices.

for those who need more room and are concerned with fuel efficiency, a g25 or g28 would be great.

I hate how all the auto companies are introducing new smaller market cars that are effectively replacing a hole left by their other models getting bigger and more expensive. Keep the G the same size and stop moving it up the price ladder.

It only moved up 0.9 inches in length and 0.3 inches in height. It does, however, have way more features (convenience AND safety) than the outgoing model.

The new Maxima, Altima, and Z are all smaller than their outgoing models...

But they're also all more expensive (can't speak for Z yet, though it's assumed).

Thank the raw price of materials mostly for the expense increase. If autos followed the price trends of gasoline, bread, or eggs, we'd all be paying $50,000 for an Aveo by now.

Rav4 v6 all the way! I had one and it`s way quicker off the line than my ex35 awd.
