Long story short, My block to head DOWEL pins were not installed when I put my head on my motor.

My motor seems to run fine, but should I be worried?:caged:

I wouldn't worry about it, its there to help line the HG up before installing the head studs. So if those lined up you should be ok. I'd think your better off leaving it then trying to reseal the HG again.

I forgot the dowels the first time I reinstalled a cylinder head. Everything lined up though when I went to put the studs in and the engine was fine. I never made that mistake again though.

The dowels are one of those things that it's definitely better to have, but most likely won't kill you if you don't. I put together a 4G63 with only one out of two dowels and never had a problem. Like TS4l said, I think they're more about lining everything up during install than actually holding things in place once the install is done. There's a heck of a lot of torque and surface area holding the head and the block together.
