Hi guys.

I have an Euro Market S14 OEM SR20DET, ZENKI.
Take a look at the pictures, please...

There are two pipes from the power steering pump and rack, that go for some reason, all the way accross the engine bay, then exit the engine bay to the passanger side wing, LOOP AROUND and go back again.

I would imagine this is for cooling purposes, so i was wondering if this, or something simmilar is going on on your cars as well.

It seems that other market S14, or different years, dont have these.
Meaby those use some other way of cooling ?

The thing is, that the piping that goes to the wing, interfeers with the placement of my engine oil cooler setup, and i was thinking of shortening it, by connecting the two pipes marked with red.

What do you guys think about it ?

About three years ago I removed the power steering line similar to that after my ss braided oil drain line ate a hole through the aluminum line. Like you said my s14 just had the line that ran across the cross member and back. I say remove it, I've had no problems with my power steering since.

If you don't drive on track, you might be fine without the cooling loop. S13s have a loop that goes just in front of the front subframe.

You could always get some aluminum tubing and put another loop under the front core support or something. Just get some AN tube nuts and sleeves, a few unions and go flaring.

I cut mine out and drive it daily...... my fluid foams up all the time.... pumps keep going out... bla bla .. BUT I did the same thing to my last 13 and never had a problem.... soo.... your just gonna have to give it a shot.. or dont.....
