One of the guys from my shop called hks about the hyper exhaust and its supposedly 3.25" wide. .25 bigger than the N1.

The N1 sounded really good, I have a friend with the N1 and another with the N1 duel, and both sound really good, but i was just curious about the HKS, i dont hear much about it, most people have the A'pexi, is the HKS hiper more suited for a turbo application

Thanx

Both exhaust are about the same type. I think the resonator on the hyper is a little larger so it might soak up some of the sound. The N1 is one peice. You will not be disappointed with which ever you choose. I was planning on getting the hyper. The price tag on both systems is about 150 - 200 dollar difference. hks being more expensive.

huge diameter exhaust is not always a good thing. Like for hachi roku 4age the perfect piping size before the muffler is 53mm.
For SR20 the perfect size seems to be between 70-75mm diameter.

It starts off at 75mm (2.95"), and switches to 85mm piping (3.35") at some point (perhaps after the resonator).

The GT Spec has a 95mm (3.74") section before the muffler (and is also full stainless steel).

Those #'s are OD.

While we're at it, there's also no "NA" and "Turbo" version of the standard N1 for the 240sx. They're all the same.

My friends have the HKS, and it is LOUD. It works really well, but to make it tolerable you have to put the silencer in. This takes away from the power you gain with it.

The N1 is sweet, and I would rather have that than the Apexi Dunk I have on my car now.

The only cool thing about the Dunk is how quiet it is, it makes my car somewhat of a sleeper.... until the wastegate opens! Heh hehe hhe

OK, I've got a 3Mb video that shows me and my friend racing, we both have Dunks on our cars. This was before the turbo kit, so you don't hear my wastegate drown out everything else.

Do you have any place I can upload it to?? Anyone?

-Ry<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial[/img]i have an N1, and i know a guy that has a HKS Hiper, and they both sound the same, only difference is his Hiper is full polished piping, you can get the hiper non-polished, but overall the N1 will be cheaper in price than the Hiper

Your local shop is lame, that's only a $10 discount over the LIST price for the N1. They can do better than that.
