OK, so here's the deal. I checked out my leaking tranny. It's coming right out of the shifter area. The problem is, I'm sure I'm missing at least one part (it's a spacer/bushing thingie and maybe a wave washer...not too sure). http://www.freshalloy.com/ I think Alan lost it when putting in my SR, and just didn't know it was missing. So, I'm wondering if anyone has a pic of all the parts that come with the OBX?! That way, I could try and just buy that part. My other option is to buy another OBX. Or buy a B&M, but that will break the bank this month. And I don't like the fact that the B&M is noisy. What should I do? http://www.freshalloy.com/

Check 240sx.org. Somewhere in the installs page is a write up of a pilot shortshifter install. Same exact thing as your OBX. See if it's installed correctly. If not send me an e-mail of what parts you need I've got a couple shifter parts laying around.

i'm missing the wave washer (which is why it moves up and down) and the gasket (which is probably why it leaks). do you have any of these?

Eric<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial[/img]i'm pretty sure I have the wave washer, and the gasket you can make from paper. E-mail me and I will check if I have it when I get off of work.

I had my OBX put on yesterday with the help of IAN and RASTA.

Thanks fellas...

anyway back to topic, i was missing one of the little washer also which suppose to prevent leakage. I send DON an email inquiring about that and also, my square piece didn't had any grove on it for the shifter boot to slide under either.

I have the new revised version of the OBX. Will find out from DON what's up on these two things.

PS. I love how it works campared to stock.

just a quick q?

when i did my auto to man swap i ordered everything to do it right the first time.
this included a pilot (i believe)short shifter.
but when my mechanic went to install it he said the tranny had a six bolt pattern and the shifter only had a four bolt pattern and it wouldn't work.
so i called courtesy and all they said was that the shifter i had was the only one they carried and that eveyone uses them without a problem until me.
i thought maybe my tranny was from a year with a different design but i talked to the mechanics at nissan and they said that all 240 trans were six bolt pattern.sooo uuhhh am i missing something ?
are all your trannys six bolt and what about your short shifters what were there bolt patterns?have all there customers just been making it work?

The 6-bolt cover plate doesn't need to be removed to install the short shifter.

Check out the short-shifter install at www.240sx.org (http://www.240sx.org) .

What makes the B&M shifter noisy? I have a obx short shifter and was thinking of getting a B&M. Should I or not?
