Friend has one. It's very quiet, smooth, and nice handling. The interior quality is solid built and very ergonomics. The body also feels very solid. This is a true luxury infiniti compact car.

The car is designed for crowded places like Tokyo, Paris, London. It's not a race car but an excellent commuter. One thing that is negative is the resale value.

i have a 94 hanging around.
i guess you can consider that i used it commerically for 4 years, and within those four years i put in 60,0000 miles and spent 1700 dollars which included a tranny and water pump.
Its not the smoothest car, it has nice highway pick up, and is very easy to drive. the gas consumtion feels like a little like a 6 cyl, but thats probably cause i throw it around alot.

whats the price range you are looking for ?

What I am really looking into is the newer styles..99 and up..chasis code is like P11?? I think?
I was hoping 5spd..basically the TOURING edition.
In the range of 12-20G's...99 and up..I doubt it though.

Yeah the price range is turn off..and the low HP..and FWD..'MY' opinion...newer models should be at least....170HP...be nice if they were in the 23CDN range..and RWD!

I happen to own 2 G20's one with 341,000 miles and another with 212,000.Both are running great. The 300k car uses oil but can be expected with that mileage but hey it beats a 500.00 a month car note.(Both are in great shape)

Have you consider purchasing new since there are huge incentives for the G20 after the G35 is out.

I believe you can get a brand new fully loaded for just a little below $20,000(before TTL).

98 accord v6
96-97 infiniti i30
00 accord coupe v4
98 maxima se
98 audi a4 1.8t !!!
maybe a 98 bmw 323i

i didnt include the g20 mainly because its to be discontinued and its not the swiftest car in the 99 and up models.

Here in BC you should be able to get a 99 for around $20,000 or less.

Usually 99's in BC that are around $20,000 have around 50,000 kms (32,000 miles) which is a really good deal for a quality car. I think that a used g20 would be an awesome car. When i was buying the G35, there was a guy trading in his 99 g20 for a g35. He only put 8,000 kms (4,900 miles) a year on his G. That would have been a good deal to get that car.

I know that the G20 isnt fast off the lot..so from the 240 power to the G20..probably wont notice too much with a 5spd manual..

All the other cars that are chosen?? NAH!

Nothing against those cars..
My friend HAD a SpecV here in Manitoba...first to buy and own one in Winnipeg..and first to sell it in Winnipeg. Not that he didnt like it..he just wants to pay his debts off...buy a 240 and swap the SR20DET into it.

My other choice is the SR20DET as well. But thinking in the line of future plans...someday.

Marriage + Wife + Kids = 4door

And to me I LOVE NISSAN..so it has to be something related to Nissan.
And I just love the way the G20 looks....just wished it was faster..... images/icons/frown.gif

right now is the absolute best time ever that you can buy a G20...before they run out man. 2002 is their last run, and they are going for the same prices as a 2000 or 2001 used car. I saw a black G20 sport...with the white gauges...16"chrome rims...spoiler...moonroof...foglights..dual colored leather (blakck and white) and a 6cd cahnger going for 22k....that is amazing. That includes incentives, but i am almost positive that price can drop to 20k...dealers are killing to get these cars out...at least the dealers around my area are. How much more car do you want for 20k? No other car will come with leather/6cd/moonroof...etc...brand new...for 20k...who cars about the 140hp engine...it is pretty powerful ( i have driven the G20) and for the size of the car, it isnt a problem. Gas mileage is good...lil high for a 4cyl...but very good compared to other cars. What other reasons do you need man...go buy that thing....because i am going to go buy one, and they are running out quickly...surprisingly i see A LOT on the road....good luck though...let us know what you decide....

I've had a 1993.5 (yes, it matters) G20 for (surprise) nine years, and outside of engine mounts due to potholes, never had anything other than routine maintenance. All the big pieces working like new the whole time. It's not a sports car, but it handles better than most anything else that was available for sensible money in the early 90's.

Complaints? Could use 25 more Horsepower and some cupholders - which were just becoming popular in '93.

I can't imagine a more reliable car. Look at several years' worth of Consumer Reports reliability ratings and you will see that even they agree.

I plan to keep the G20 for as long as it will have me.

I just traded my '93.5 G20 for the G35 after 135K miles. It was a great little car. I really like the look of the newer models. Very sporty IMO, especially with 16" wheels. I saw one at the dealer yesterday, and it was very nice. My two gripes with the car are:

1) Wish it had more power (perhaps a 2.5)
2) Cup holders

The only reason I traded it was because the G35 is awesome!

Anyway, it is a great car, and I wish Infiniti was not dropping it from the line up. IMO, if they did a couple of things to tweak the design (maybe a 2.5), it could go on for a few more years.
