the first shot makes it look very retro (and, for once, very nice).

the second shot shows the tail, which toyota seems to have ripped off of an s2000.

what is up with their designers?

Yeah the rear end looks like an s-2000, I think it is kinda ugly!

Once again people, it looks better in person. But these pictures of it are making me puke.

This photo makes it look a lot like the Fiat Barchetta, just a bigger version of it.

At first, when I got a glance of the SC430, I thought it looked good, definitely Audi-inspired. Now that rear end makes it look like a bathtub to me....especially with the top up! http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif

Doesnt that rear end shot bare some resemblance to one of those Z car rear end shots I've seen floating around here???

This car is beautiful!
only problem is, it's taken cues from just about every car out there, its taken the best of Benz, BMW, Audi, and others...

I'd say this car will sway at least 20% of SL500 buyers away from Benz...

i'm thinking the SL500 is a bit more exclusive than the Lexus. the BMW may give it competition, but i think most people would still go for the SL. the SL500, imo, is probably the classiest looking car on the road, despite its age

I think that the CL55 is the best looking luxury coupe, now that's class

i dont disagree at all that the SL500 is probably the best "ive made it" car...
thats why i said 20%, because all those people that bought an LS400 in the 90's might have their "coupe-lovers" counterparts that will sell out to lexus
i dont know if that explained my reasonning effectively..

uh...yes...i have the same questions as well...how have Lexus and Nissan created such similar designs? and what are they smoking over there...it's like they are sharing designs.

toyota is big on sharing these days. they think everyone else is, too, which is why they help themselves to sharing designs.

messed up.
