WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Co. is recalling 53,061 Camrys that might have flawed accelerator cable housings, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Friday.

Regulators said the housings in some Camrys made at the company's Kentucky assembly plant could have defects that cause the accelerator cable to break, ``allowing the throttle to return to idle or remain in its most recent position regardless of accelerator pedal operation.''

The cars at issue were assembled at the Kentucky plant between 1997 and 2000 for model years 1998 to 2001. Toyota was scheduled to begin notifying owners in February.

A Toyota spokesman was not immediately available for comment.

Does that mean Toyota's reliability sucks because it just had a recall?
