Ha. I like the way you post your topics. Rather different way of writing I must say. Visual pepto bismol huh? Who gots the heart burn? Could this be called Retro? I know interior can be called Retro and I think its down right cool. But Exterior is definitely something else. It is although, based on LS/Thurderbird/S Type rwd platform.

I'm not a huge fan of the interior, but the car is very very sleek...very nice...there's not very many cars out there that are just.....smoooooth...like this Lincoln....I'd buy one if I had the money... http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif.

I must add that this thing looks awful. Very ghetto. If it makes the production line, I would be surprised. Look how long it is taking Ford to get the damn Thunderbird out, way behind schedule and it is LS based. Not like it is an all new car... This seems to be a reskinned Thunderbird...nothing more...so if we do see it, will it be 2005?

I don't like it for the basic fact that it's a dressed up Thunderbird. The Interior is nice though but I've seen Nissan do better. And people complain about I30 and Maxima http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/rolleyes.gif at least it has a different interior. But if this is the New styling direction for Lincoln then all there cars will just look like dressed up Fords I guess?
I always liked Lincoln better then Cadillac but I guess times have changed and it looks like the New Cadillac gots the New Lincoln beat.

The complete series is now posted on my website with shots of the 49er.I do admit a bit of a Bias because I was in school with Jay Mays and consider him an outstanding Industrial as well as Automobile Designer. The Altima looks good but it is bad news for Infiniti.
Thanks for your help in posting. If I knew the source code I'd add it in.Thanks NDH http://www.autozcape.com

Nice website! ...you're a talented artist....its nice to see someone else here who appreciates good design, no matter what decade; it seems like me too many people here do not appreciate/identify with great American car culture. J Mays is a great designer; I liked his Mustang Bullet Concept, too. I think they gave a green light to that concept as well. http://forums.freshalloy.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif

What I also like about J Mays is that he preserves an Amercian-ness to his forms. I don't mean "retro," but truly Amercian-ness. American car culture is rapidly becoming extinct, largely due to the fact that foreign substitutes are better quality....Already we are placing the glory years of American History firmly in the 50's, when Americans most identified with their vehicles and took pride in their market and design superiority.

So...save your '64 Lincoln Continentals, and your '35 Auburn Speedsters and your Studebakers and your '57 Chevy Belairs and your '46 Buick Super 8's and your '49 Mercury hardtops and your '59 Cadillac Eldorado Broughams....these will become living legends of a bygone era...and they will be very very valuable in the future...(Heck, they already are!)....

BTW, why is the Altima bad news for Infiniti? Bring down I30/I35 sales?
