Something forged, or spun-cast, and wider than the stock 17x7. the 215 width tires seem to skinny..

what is the widest rim/tire combo I could run w/o rubbing?

They're gonna be expensive, but the Volk Racing TE37, SE37K, CE28N wheels should do. Go to:

www.rayswheels.co.jp (http://www.rayswheels.co.jp)

That's the Japanese website. If you search on www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com), you should be able to find plenty of shops that carry them. They will sell for around $500 a piece for the 17" x 7.5" size. I have heard that you can get up tp a 225 width & maybe slide by with a 235 on the car, but I would stick to the 215 size.

The Centerline RPM & Excel are very light, but only made in the 17" x 7" size. No wider than that. Go to:

http://www.centerlinewheels.com/w_catalog/fwd.html

Take a look at those wheels. They weigh 13.5LBS!!!!! I heard that they cost about $250 to $350 per wheel. Not bad. images/icons/grin.gif

Roja (Motegi Racing) Formula 7 in 17x7". They run about $330/each here (deep east texas) and in that size they are 15.5 lbs each, 2 piece, forged.

That's what I'm replacing my stock wheels with. I thought about 18's, but then I couldn't run SCCA stock.

Rhino, SR20_DE Man had the best suggestion for light weight wheels. Volk, Volk and more Volk would be my choice as well. Why?...I raced against a Civic SI fitted with Volk TE37 wheels. I won't go into details, but let's just say my Konigs are holding me back at about 33lbs per wheel. The owner claims his Volk's are less than 1/2 that. Also I've learned through trial and error that 225/45 either 16 or 17inch(hp pending) will hold a rear wheel drive car fairly well. (I'm in a'98 S14MC)

I got 17" Superleggra's for my Spec V, (15.1 lbs, each)
I think they are pretty light for a cast wheel, and priced fairly well, compared to VOLKS... but Volks do make some NICE a$$ wheels..!

I believe Racing Hart makes a 12.5lbs, 17" wheel around the same price as the SuperLg's... look around and check... I believe I saw wheelmax.com advertising 'em..

Pics of my SpecV with SuperLg's (http://home.attbi.com/~jchubaka/pics/pics.htm)

after getting my wheels... I think 18's or 19's would LOOK better.... http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/grin.gif however... there are trade-offs...

Good LUCK
