What is the estimate for G35 sales in it's first year? I would guess around 50,000.

50,000 would be amazing. I think I-series best year was around 36k. 50k would combine the best G20 and I30 sales years, making Infiniti VERY happy. BMW averages around 80,000 3s but they have 2-engine sizes, 4 variants, and manual options. I estimate 40,000 for manumatic sedan, coupe and 6-speed manual sedan would bump it over 50,000 maybe.

Hold me to this. I guess 25k annually, which I believe is very very optimistic. Probably for model year 2003 it'll be around 12,000 since sedan doesn't come out until April and variants don't come out till fall.

I would guess 30,000 first year.

I took a wild stab without doing much research. When the coupe and manual are out and the word gets spread then sales are sure to pick up. I was basing it on Altima (150K) and Maxima (100K) current sales numbers. 50K in annual sales is probably too high for the G35 then since the $30K price tag makes it pricy for the average consumer. I guess if I buy one it will be pretty unique in this area. This car won't be as modest as the Maxima is. Whereas you have to drive a Maxima to truly appreciate how awesome it is, I think with the G35, it will get much more attention and people will assume it's a pretty great car without having to drive it.

According to the article from auto news, Infiniti estimates 30,000 a year. And the winner is...NJERSEYDawg. Congrats bro!

Congrats bro!<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial[/img]Thats a optimistic view since the IS does only 15k a year, and the A4 only did about 30k last year with more variants. I hope Nissan is accurate (they bombed the Japan estimates for the current skyline)!!

I don't admit defeat as we were talking about first year and not annually. images/icons/grin.gif

The A4 is much more along the same lines as the G35, yet costs more with similar equipment, so I can easily see the G35 matching if not beating the A4's sales numbers. Not to mention the G35 still has more power than both.

I know, but the Q45 had estimates of 1000 a month. Its not even doing half. Infiniti just has a stigma about it. It would probably take the FX45 and the mid-size sedan before you start hearing people speak of Infiniti in the same breath of Lexus and BMW. I'm guessing mid 2003 will be the first time a rapper uses Infiniti in their lyrics...

What song is that in? Is it a single or a song off the CD? No you should say in mid 2003 is the year when Cash Money will use an Infiniti in their lyrics. They are the ones that mention the car in their song and show it off in their videos. Then it would really become popular.

Thanks Groovin'. Lucky guess. While those are Infiniti's estimates I will be very happy (and a little surprised) if the G can do that without cutting into the I's sales too much. Of course several dealers are saying most of their initial allotments are spoken for, so I guess we will see. The big factor will be what kind of reception the coupe gets.

By the way, Infiniti has been mentioned in a couple of other songs as well. Jay Z mentioned the new Q in a re-mix of one of Michael Jackson's new songs.

Lyric from "If I Ruled the World" from second album. $hit, both J and Nas praisin' the Q! That goes to show how good of a car it is. Infiniti should get them drag racing down Comptom in two brand new Qs, thugged out like the Impul F55. The tagline, "Well we agree on one thing...Infiniti, Accelerating the future." This is the only one I give away Nissan, I bill you for the rest.

On the subject, 30000 G35 = only 20000 I35s sold.

It will be interesting to see how everything plays out, that's for sure! I really do feel that Infiniti is headed for a "rebirth". images/icons/smile.gif
