I've decided to just say to hell with the Sentra... and go for the 350Z when it comes out. People are running the Spec V's against GTPs and Integras... I wonder what kind of kills I'll pull down with the 350. Maybe some 911's, Vettes, etc...

I'm not even going to look twice at Hondas, Cameros or Stang GTs. I think I'll eat a friends Cobra first. See how he likes that.

What's Up? I respect your decision, though it is around $10,000 more,at least. I would definitely get one too if I was rollin' like that $$ and not in college. But don't hate on the SpecV. The second day I had it I raced an early 90' 911 Porsche on the freeway. You might not believe it but I was able to accelerate past him and keep up very well, but he got me in the end. He was smiling and saying almost when he passed me. The 350Z is tight as hell! Get it and clown those S2000 punks. The Z is coming back. peace

Oh, I have no hard feelings for the Spec V, its just that my first car was a Z. I hate my current car (thus my name in the forum), and I'm looking forward to somthing that is a bit more... car... then the Sentra. I'm only looking at about ~$29K overall.

I understand the college thing though. I got bored, and stopped going. Got a good job at a national ISP. They pay for my schooling now. http://www.freshalloy.com/

Hey dude not to burst your bubble, but the Z isn't going to exactly "bust-ass" upon Z28s, Cobras, etc

it will be a very close race that comes down to the driver

and if you're referring to the new 2003 390hp Cobras, your Z won't have a prayer in hell unless you're on the juice

Nah, his is an early 90's cobra, and he thinks its the best thing on the planet. Besides, I don'g like to drag that much, I prefer the twisties.

dont' give me that crap; your previous post indicated NOTHING but drag racing

quit using the twisties excuse, its meaningless because people don't race in the twisties to where it actually makes a difference except on rare occasions

as for an early 90s cobra?

i'm assuming its a 5.0 cobra? you should take him pretty easy most likely... the early 4.6s weren't that fast either

its the 99+ ones that are decently quick

I'd run a 350Z any day in my 2000 Z28. The Z will be quick and awesome, but make no mistake... you aren't going to be walking all over Camaros and Mustangs with a 280hp V6. The '03 Cobra will have 390HP with a stock supercharger. Stock 98+ Z28s/Trans Ams dyno around 330hp at the flywheel (around 300 rear wheel) and have been known to run 12.9s in the 1/4. I've run a stock C5 vette and won by a few car lengths in the Z28 and all I've got is exhaust (the driver probably sucked, but it was close regardless). A Vette or 911 will hand you your arse. Put a nice turbo on there, then we're talking! http://www.freshalloy.com/

I view the Z as more of an all-around sports package. It will handle well in the twisties and give a good balance of handling and power. Muscle cars like the Z28 or T/A are obviously more built for straight line acceleration, but don't underestimate them in the twisties either or you might be surprised. My Z28 handles quite well and pulls plenty of G's, thank you. http://www.freshalloy.com/ I've seen more than one magazine comparision where a Camaro or T/A out-performed supposedly "better handling" imports in the slalom time after time. http://www.freshalloy.com/
